I've had a son in the district from 2nd grade and he is now in 9th grade. If I were to stay here he would be woefully underprepared for college. The budget issues that the school has faced has cost them dearly in terms of quality teachers. They've been stuck with quite a bit of dead weight that they can't get rid of due to the union. It's a shame, really. The superintendent is absolutely the saving grace of the District. To blame anyone other than the voters of the District does the school an injustice. It took them over a decade to pass a levy, and this is what happens when schools are forced to cut back to nothing. The belief that the school spends wastefully is widespread and unsubstantiated. All one needs to do is attend a board meeting now and then to see that, though few bother.

I am both a parent and former graduate. The lower grades (1st - 3rd) are not that bad, but as you get older it gets worse. Many teachers that did care have been let go and most that are left are just there to get a check and wait for retirement. If you have any issues at all they try to ship you off to the Career Center. I have heard from Seniors that the Guidance Office does not help much with continuing with extra college credits thru Akron U. They actually will discourage. Not sure why. Maybe they lose money for each student. I got good grades but when I went to College I was behind and had to take about a year of classes to catch up. Cloverleaf is weak in Math and went I went for Engineering I was not ready. This is my experience and now I am seeing things being repeated again with my child. If anything it might be worse with the budget issues.

Cloverleaf High School provided me with excellent teachers that motivated me and encouraged me to do my best. The principal and assistant principals all cared about the students and only wanted to see them succeed. Cloverleaf also provided challenging curriculum, it was just up to each individual student to do the work! Cloverleaf was a great place to be!

Cloverleaf has a few dedicated and caring teachers, however most of them are too willing to fail a student rather than help them. The guidance counselors only care about the good students. They tell all of the 'problem kids' to transfer to the Medina County Career Center, so they don't have to deal with them. I graduated a few years ago, and although I'm doing much better in College, I have to say that my education at Cloverleaf did not prepare me for College at all. It's a lot of hard work making up for all of that lost time.
