My daughter is in first grade at Liberty. The vocabulary she's learning are the same words she had in Pre-K in New York, and she tells me constantly that she is bored in class. I wish they let the kids learn at their own pace, rather than trying to keep the entire class at the same level. I spoke with the teacher, but she said there was nothing she could do to provide my child with more challenging work. I'm not sure if all the teachers have that type of attitude about learning, but I was not impressed. Aside from that situation, the school is nice. They are pretty good about keeping the building secure, which is important. It is an adorable old building, but has been refurbished and the classrooms are nice.

We moved from FL to West Chester, OH. Soon after I visited the enrollment center where I was warmly welcomed by the staff there. They help me out with the enrollment very fast and efficiently. That same afternoon I got a courtesy call from the school inviting us for a tour and meet the teacher to which my daughter was assigned. Next day we met with the Principal, Mrs. Montgomery, wonderful lady and very professional. She took us around the school and took us then to the class where our daughter was suppose to be. We went into the classroom and there was Mrs. Bugg, a passionate teacher, you can tell by just looking at her. She sat our daughter next to her and asked the other kids who they thought she was. They all reply with my daughter's name and all knew we came from FL and her age and birthday. We were handed a folder with all forms and instructions for the class and an update list of things they were doing, as well as a student file. We felt part of the school right away and since our daughter is been very happy, thanks for the teacher and other staff her transition was smooth and pleasant. She looks forward every morning to go to school. We are very happy.

I have had two children go through this school so far, two more to go. The teachers are above average. I agree, there isn't a lot of homework, but I like that because I don't want my 6 year to dislike school because of too much homework (there's plenty of years ahead for that :-) The school lunches are horrible (but I think that's a National problem). They manage the school drop off/pick up well. The school is newly refurbished and the classrooms are above average. The teachers go above and beyond to make their classrooms kid-friendly. They have full-time assistants for the non-typical students. At first, I didn't like that Lakota puts non-typicals in the same classroom until my friend from Lebanon said they don't do that in their district - the result, her kids are uncomfortable around non-typicals ~ my kids are very comfortable around kids with special needs (thank you!). Due to the Levy not passing, the kids have lost some Specials like Music :-(. I wish there was more parent involvements. Overall: Above Average.

I love Libetry and my child loves her teacher as do I. Our teacher has control over the class and enjoy teaching. The drisict doesn't assign alot of homework . I like that it gives me time to push my child harder at home. Going above and beyond is really the parents job. Not the district.

This is a newly renovated school building, I'd give it an 'A' for that. However, my 1-st grader has not been challenged enought academically, I think mostly because of the huge (23 students) class size and just one teacher, no aids, no volunteers. The teaches has to spend her time of disciplining the hyper kids. I volunteered 4 times this fall for his parties/field trips, and the teacher seems to be happy to live the kids to the parents, she does not seem to enjoy her job. There is not enough extra classes for the kids who are advanced beyond the curriculum. I feel like it's a cheap babysitting option, but not a place where my son is learning. The homework is 3-5 minutes of reading each night, that's all. I got the additional reading/math material to work at home, school does not challege the kids enough.
