Olentangy Orange Middle School Ratings & Reviews

The only reason I gave this school two stars is because the academics are undeniably great. But, the lack of diversity causes some serious racist issues amongst the students. This school is racist! There is an 84% white population with only a 4% black population and the white students have no shame in making the black students feel inferior. Unfortunately, some of the teachers definitely follow suit. So I guess the question you have to ask yourself if you're a minority is... is it worth it? If you are willing to fight battles and put out fires pertaining to racism, this may be the school for you. Or, if you are like me and tired of fighting this battle, the whites can have it. In 2018, who would have ever thought we would be fighting the senseless battle of racism. Sad!

This school failed my son. Period. He is on the Autism Spectrum and he was bullied on a regular basis. We had one incident where another student took a photo of my son when he was trying to use the restroom. We had a second incident where several girls took a snapchat photo after they told him to say "I am gay" into their camera. The kids basically went unpunished. Numerous kids went out of their way to make my son's experience at this school a living hell; threatening him daily and taking every opportunity to humilate him on a daily basis. When we reported these incidents...nothing. WE were made to feel like the trouble makers. The leadership at this school failed us. If you have a child with special needs, save yourself the aggravation and avoid this school. Please understand, as a parent...I have ZERO to gain from posting this, as we have moved on. I am just concerned about future children being exposed to their inept management of these issues.

The school is one of a very few that I am aware of to specifically recognize community military members during veteran's day. Great job!

Needs experienced leadership., need further education training to all teachers especially if you have kids on IEP , special needs , Autism. Lack of leadership, knowledge, training. They Talk, talk and express how they care about your child. But it's all staged talking. It's not about quality proper education, not sure what happen in today world of teachers/ schools. They just don't care! I see schools more as "business " and less of quality teachingx lacks proper support the need of children. We need better educated leadership , teachers having continuous education, passion, school district lacks understand special needs children. There are huge lack of training here. School is hiring classroom AIDS without proper education to assist your special needs child! This is set for failure., however I see more and more school teachers and guidance counslers walking around with their coffee cups. As a parent, when I see the lack of training at school for the teachers Their hands are occupied with coffee cups. Scratching my head, what's wrong with the picture here? This is not to intention to all teachers. Only to some. There are very talented, truly dedicated teachers and staff who I respect at this school.
