Although Lebanon isn't the top school when it come to being upgraded and new Lebanon High School is one of the best high schools ever! Unlike most schools, lebaon teachers take the time to make sure students comprehend and they offer extra help. Not only are the teachers awesome but so are the students. LHS students rank good scores in testing and place high in after school sports or activities. The best part about Lebanon is that at Lebanon the goal is for everyone to be a team and we as the citizens in Lebanon work extra hard to make sure this goal is reached. So not only is Lebanon High School a great place to be but it is a great family to be apart of! :-)

If you have an average child that fits the average school model, then they will do okay at Lebanon. Those are all the families that say it is so awesome. Their kids do well and play sports and all is well in the world. BUT, if your child has a 504 for health issues and misses a lot of school for medical treatment, then it is not a school for you. The teachers will not budge on deadlines or help the student catch up with work. You will have no communication from teachers until it is too late and your child is failing. You will be harassed by the school even after sending teachers emails, and Dr's notes concerning your child's absences. If you have a child with an IEP, this is not the place for your child either. They will make suggestions for your child, but expect you to pay for it. Ex.-Pay for tutoring, buy large print books for visually impaired, buy tape recorder for child that has trouble taking notes quickly, etc. They will take away accomodations put in place to help your child. They only supply a resource teacher in the easy classes, even if your child has the ability to do academic work with help. Some of the resource teachers do not know the subject matter.

LHS has an overall excellent faculty and that is why I think it continues to receive excellent rankings both from the state's board of education and from alumni. Schools ARE a priority in Lebanon - just look at the tax levies that continue to pass year after year and take a census on how many parents went to Lebanon themselves! After attending kindergarten through twelfth grade in the Lebanon City School District, I was well-prepared for whatever college threw at me and built upon the knowledge I acquired at LHS. There are behavior problems and discipline issues in any school district but until you actually visit other schools and experience their "quality" of education, you won't realize how you have it here.

After reading the previous reviews, I am appalled by the lack of insight that the posters have. I graduated from Lebanon in 2008, and I had absolutely no issues in any areas. The teachers were all helpful and open to suggestions and they would be more than willing to stay after class or school to help. There were so many extracurricular options that many students were bouncing between three to four weekly. And if there were any issues that needed to be worked out, you could go to anyone and talk to them. To say that Lebanon is a poor or below average school is ridiculous. If anyone truly had these devastating problems that are being mentioned, they should have taken it up with the school. The faculty of Lebanon would have been more than willing to work with them.

As a 2007 graduate of Lebanon High School, I can say without reservation that it is one of the better public schools in Southwest Ohio. I am currently attending a vprestigious hniversity on the East Coast and I have Lebanon to thank for that. Contrary to many of the previous posts (which with their inadequate spelling and inability to convey a coherent message deem them unacceptable), Lebanon High's teachers, administrators and students show a willingness and drive to succeed and an unique ability to accept people and their dreams. I would recommend Lebanon to anyone without reservation.
