Dover High School Ratings & Reviews

This school is full of cockroaches ( it really is) and Guatemalans. The principal and vice principal absolutely do not have the childrens best interest at heart. They are very rude. It is very clear to me that they are there for the paycheck and not the kids.Dover is a very nice town and the other schools are nice but steer clear of this High school. It also leaks badly in several places when it rains. It has mold in it, and asbestos. Bad air quality, no A/C. It is literally falling apart.

My children both love the school. There are many activities other than football. I am not to sure what this person is talking about. My daughter plays soccer and the team was anyway supported by both the school & fans. They also many other activities/clubs other than sports. The Interact Club is one that both my children were involved in. Dover is also rated 'Excellent' by the state of Ohio and has a very good rep. for education. My oldest has recieved a full ride to college because of the education she recieved from Dover.

Football is important, but it is not everything. We have basketball, softball, tennis, track, swimming, and other sports that are supported by the community and schools. We have an anime club, a chess club, volunteer organizations, and a student government. To start a new club all you need to do is get a few students together and find a teacher to host the club. Your club is given school time twice in a day every other week. DHS are outranks all other schools in the area. Examples of this are that we are regularly rated 'Excellent' by the state of Ohio. We have excellent support in the community, as our funding shows. DHS is leading education in Tuscarawas county and the entire state of Ohio.

Dover High School is a terrible school in it's area. There are only a few good classes in the school Like it does have great art classes which is the only reason why I'm not giving it a one. If they needed to put in more classes, why not put in something important like 'How to start your own business class'? Sheesh. This school does have some extracurricular activities, but only a few. They care more about football than they care about the Interact Club. Thats sad. Starting your own extracurricular activities are also extremeley hard to do. The level of parent involvement is almost zero. Avoid Dover unless your kid likes football.

Dover has a great system that pays extreme attention to the education they provide. They would never allow someone who, for example, is not excelling in their English class, move ahead without some kind of help. The schools take pride in the level of education they provide and the ability of all the students attending. This may be the reason they raise the bar when it comes to grades. Everyone knows that Dover holds their students to high academic standards and the students accept that challenge willingly and usually excel with flying colors. The extracurricular activities are among the best programs in the state. I am a proud DHS grad.
