Valerie taught me so many wonderful, and useful things in my life. I had wonderful teachers who knew their stuff and didn't just come to school for a paycheck. People talk about how smart I am, but honestly its just common sense. Valerie teaches.....taught you answer a question in as many ways as possible. You look for the simple route first and then discover the harder pathes. While at valerie I was always two grades ahead, and instead of keeping me back they offered to skip me up, and when I couldn't I began to take classes so I could continue to grow and prosper. I learned how to do things that my 13th grade peers can't even do. It amazes how much I had learned going there. It may not be the same with half of the best teachers gone, but valerie was a good school when I went there.

If you are considering Valerie Elementary School please take the time to research. The school is no longer Excellent like in pass years. The teacher to student ratio is very uneven and most don't have teacher aids. The teacher spent most times screaming at the children and trying to get some kind of order in the classroom which in turn leaves little time to the lesson in. The principle is obsolete and when you do see her you can tell her from the kids. The principle is not professional by no means and has no real interest in parent concerns. You will find out that once you decide to pull them out and place them elsewhere that they are way behind the average. Found this out when the grandkids where tested at the new. school we had them tested to attend. So if you are thinking of Valerie Elementary you may want to reconsider.

Well since some of the reviews below are older. I wanted to submit an updated review. Valerie is not the school it used to be, a lot of these teachers could care less about the students, not all some of them really care and it shows but overall they are teaching to a paycheck and a test. The common core teaching standard means each child gets the same amount of info whether they understand it or not. The communication with parents is next to none and the principle supports this lack of communication by being completely defensive to anything a parent says. She over talks anyone that she is not in agreement with and gives 100 reasons why. Never taking some responsibility or requiring the teachers to take some responsibility for their actions or lack there of. There are several parents taking their children out and stating the same thing, it is no longer the academic excellent school it used to be. So if you are thinking of Valerie make sure you do your research and see to it that your child is a match with the teacher you are handing your most precious asset to.
