I feel that the teachers there have good intentions; however, I believe that more seasoned, diverse educators are needed. It is a school not a military base. I have served my country and even in the military the structure is not as rigid. I adore some of the teachers and lower administrators that are there but there are some things that need to change. I believe there should be downtime for the students for the simple reason that all students of different ages have to be treated differently. There is too much negative reinforcement to get the students to conform and submit rather than to be educated. If a school is to teach K to 8 then the social interaction has to be different, not uniform as though all are the same. There needs to be more involvement with the parents and the teachers concerning not only the well being of the student but the professionalism of the teacher. Let the children be children and allow the teachers to use the more traditional style of educating.

I've had my fair share of a lot of things I don't like about the school system and I have things I do like. The education they receive is astounding and you will not see it in CPS.I don't like the fact that they have to wear black and white as uniforms and the shirts has to be long sleeved all year, the dress shoes is a bit tedious for me seeing that I have a child who has seivers disease, dress shoes are not a comfort. I don't like the military style they portray and not being able to talk at lunch is ridiculous, and walking on taped down lines, what happened to staying to the right and left? they should be able to socialize, the teachers do at lunch and are very loud but will holler at the kids and give them detentions, make them stand on the walls. The teachers have no compassion and are entirely too young even down to the principals. I don't like the way they discipline.I believe that the parents should be heard and should have an input on what's going on in the schools. Elementary kids are treated like they are in jail and the high school, let's just say them are the kids who needs to be locked down and with the restrictions because that school is out of order and control.

This school is great! I love it here. No it has not been up and running like a lot of public and private schools around the city of cleveland but it is in the process of becoming greater! Yes the I CAN company has had a few hiccups but what new business has not? I can schools have only been around since 2010 so everything will not be perfect. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was this school system. I believe I can will be very successful and will be around for years. A lot of things have improved over the years. A lot of teachers feel like it is an impossible company to work for because this is urban education and a lot of the teacher's do not have classroom management. So of course your over head is going to be on your back. A lot of our scholar's live in very urban neighborhood's and come from bad situations at home. So as an educator if you can understand the students situations or never been though anything in your life similar to theirs how can you really be successful as an urban educator? I can is great and what they are trying to achieve is wonderful! Love it!

It seems like everyone is unhappy except for the founders; who both drive new Range Rovers. They pack the classes to legal capacity and pay their teachers awful salaries for the work and time they are demanded to put in. I feel sorry for the students and teachers of the i can network. I've already seen a rediculous amount of turn over from this year alone. If I could say anything to the administration and founders: Learn how to treat teachers and students like humans. You will not be successful burning your employees out, and putting four different teachers in front of the students every year.
