Mt. Auburn International Academy is a great school. I have been a student at MAIA since I was in 4th grade. Maia prepares students for college and help them prepare for the real world. Maia isn't only a school its a family. We motivate and help each other out no matter what grade we're in.I encourage parents to send there school to maia. We are heavy on anti-bullying and students education. We have a student life program that allow students to express who they are or simply find who they want to be. This school gave me the opportunity to travel overseas to see new things and meet new people. I love my maia family!!!!! J.J

This institution is the pinnacle of educational excellence. The teachers treat every student as there own,its not common to find teachers who care so much and genuinely want to see every student succeed.

I have 2 children that attend this school. So far MOST of the teachers are awesome! they really try and help the students get a good education. My concern is the grading system 8 grade has test and exams 4 days a week and im sure that is pretty stressful for the children.I understand that it is a college prep school and they really are trying to prepare these children for college but at the same time my daughter which is in the 3rd grade has no life anymore because of the tremendous amount of homework. most of the time it is 100 math questions 3 other papers and then a study guide to study for the test and this is monday through friday! The problem is that most of the time the kids dont get to bed until 11 pm sometimes midnight due to studying! BUT a child needs a decent amount of rest to function properly. Craming homework on these kids to the point where they barely get rest is not in the best interest of a childs education. It only benefits the school to say " HEY LOOK SEND YOUR CHILD HERE WE ACTUALLY WORK AND TEACH!" which is great but what about the students and the proper amount of rest and sleep they need to function the next work day! My 3rd grader is really stressed out!

This school is awful. Many of the teachers are good and try their best, but the student's lack motivation and discipline. The entire grading system is based solely on test scores, which makes homework pointless in the student's eyes. Similarly, there are no consequences for not participating in class, so students tend to talk the entire time (distracting other students as well). The students are pretty much given the answers to the upcoming tests and then allowed to retake the test if they fail. So why try to study or even listen during class if you are just going to be spoon fed the answers on the retake? Also, the turnover rate at MAIA is so high that the staff cannot support the teachers in discipling the students. Physical fights and destruction of school property should be grounds for some kind of discipline, but MAIA lack the staff to give detention or in-school suspensions. Furthermore, the teachers are powerless because the students know there will be no consequences. I do not blame the teachers for leaving the school as soon as they can (often times in the middle of the semester). This school is not setting the students up for success. This school is just awful.
