The school is improving with the extra curriculum for the kids and thanks to the new principal who is trying his best to make things better for the children at PS 2I. I had great experiences with the teachers to this point can't complain my kids are learning very well. I really do wish more parents were involved In the schools activities.

The school has a mix of good and not great things. The teachers are very supportive and caring towards the students. They try to do their best with what they've got. The teachers have some tough kids to deal with and wristwatch the rest of their class. My kids have been here for a few years and it frustrates me to see the school not be the best it can be. I think the school has SO much potential if only it had more support from the BOE and parents alike. The PTA tries to amp up activities for the kids and families (dances, sales, events, movie day etc) but gets very little support from the families. A lot of events get cancelled due to lack of interest, which is such a shame because so many people would enjoy these events. A school is made great by the families that go there and the people who work there. Yes things aren't perfect but again they need support from everyone.

I couldnt agree more with the comments about the principal's nasty attitude toward teachers and parents. She rules this school through threats and intimation actually targeting teachers for no good reason and driving them out by being abusive. How she is still in the system and considered an educator is baffling. I feel badly for the teachers who, despite the impossible atmosphere truly care about their students and try to do their very best by them. This school would be great if morale wasn't so low and the staff so on edge due to threats from the principal. She speaks to parents like they're idiots- as if she's doing them a favor by addressing their concerns. She's quick to play the blame game and throw staff under the bus. Leaders should lead by example- not by setting up a hostile environment where a fear based economy thrives.

I hear there is some "funny business" going on between two female teachers in school. Should be looked into by the administration if you ask me. Although it's just "hear- say", it should be investigated.

I thought I was the only person that felt this way about the principal, parent coordinator and secretary. My daughter has been attending this school since kindergarten and now she's in second grade and it has gotten from bad to worse. and this will be her last year and this circus they call a school.
