You can talk to the principal all you want, because she's so "available" in her words. She'll tell you what you need to hear to end the conversation, and .... no change. Kids are still mean, bullying is a huge problem, kids are afraid of the vice principal - not because he's a big man but because, according to the kids, he yells. It's not a parent not being happy because "you can't make all the parents happy", it's because my family really has a had a sub par, and unsatisfactory experience.

I have three kids in this school. My oldest is in 4th grade and she said, " This is the best school". She loves her amazing teachers. My middle is in 2nd and he said ," He would not trade this school for any other.

I love this school. I am graduating this year and I don't want to say goodbye to it. There is one part of this school I have been ready to say goodbye to for YEARS, which is the lunch aids. They are extremely rude and treat us like trash. One day they made a kid cry and yelled at him for crying. Overall I really like this school and never want to leave. - Submitted by a student

This is our second year at this school. I am very impressed by the hard work of the administration and the teachers. The administration is very informed on all of the kids. They try to promote a respectful environment and stress anti-bullying. We get emails at least once a week from the principal (aside from the constant emails we get from the teachers, and the PTA) which keep us informed as to what is happening at the school. The parents at the school are very involved and any parent who wants to help out for school functions is welcomed! I'm not on the PTA, but I've always been welcomed to volunteer for the school activities. Also, in response to an older posting, the DOE for NYC starting with the 2012-2013 school year reformed the special education rules so the services must be offered at the zone school. Meaning that PS 169Q offers special education services (except it is not a barrier-free school i.e. no elevators.) I have one child with special needs and I must say that the administration and teachers have been very helpful with providing for the needs of my child. I wish other NYC schools were as awesome as PS 169Q. It's such a small community, it's like a family.
