I graduated in 1973 A great school. Prepared me well for life as a military officer, business owner, and working as a college administrator.

I only give the school 4 stars because it is just our first year but so far so good! My son couldn't wait to get out of our local public school (which was always considered a really good one) and the Catholic School in our area left much to be desired. Martin Luther seems to run a cohesive program filled with dedicated teachers, a fairly good workload, sports &extra curriculum activities. The class sizes are smaller which allows teachers to really give their students what they need. My son gets a decent amount of work each day but never seems to complain about doing it and his grades have gone up to a low A which we are pretty happy with. Interestingly, the school also has some international students which we really like. After all, the world has become very small and we live in one of the most diverse cities so great exposure. We had him take the TACHs test and he was accepted to Molloy, StFrancis Prep, etc.. but he is looking forward to completing HS at Martin Luther. Oh and by the way, all of the parents & students seem to really want to be there so no drama around uniforms, discipline, etc... We are really happy with our choice!

Disappointed! Read the April 27, 2014 NY Post report....scared? Is it fear? Don't know what to do?

My son graduated from Martin Luther back in 2005 when Regents were offered as well as some AP exams and he was challenged but now with my daughter in the same school I realize that the educational standards are not what they were back then...No Regents and teachers who are not adequately trained and prepared to teach at the High School level. I am really disappointed with this school.

My child graduated from MLHS this June/2011. I had another child that graduated several years earlier. I was disappointed to see the student's were not given regents exams. They were not as academically competive as the public school student's. I noticed that many of the graduates were not considered for 4 year colleges unless they were exceptionally bright. In terms of safety, I felt my child was safe away from the gangs and public school drama but as for the guidance people and college counselors, I feel they could have done a better job.
