I am shocked at some comments here. We visited the school this week and toured for pre-K. We really like the school in general and everyone seemed so polite, teachers and students. When we entered a higher grade classroom all the kids got up and welcomed us with a loud “ Good morning”. This was quite impressive. Reading all these negative comments makes me really hesitant to enroll my child here. I hope people don’t make up stories because of minor disagreements with teacher or principals.

I feel that the teachers go above and beyond. Parents have to be just as dedicated. My son is in high school. He continues to email his teachers and express gratitude for the lessons that they have taught him. Not everyone can be pleased. However, I am a big fan of the staff and principals at the school. I'm very disappointed with Immac School's decision to rotate their teachers in the middle grade. Teachers who have no experience or knowledge of teaching a particular subject are "learning" with our kids. The problem is they don't know how and the kids suffer. An ELA teacher who still focuses on Social Studies (book choices) and don't teach grammar. When asked by students how to do something responds with "Read the instruction." If the children understood it would they bother to ask? He just keeps on asking them to read books and answer questions. He doesn't return papers on time so the students don't know what's right or wrong thereby getting the same mistake over and over again. Or a Math teacher teaching Social Studies who don't use the given textbook confusing the kids where to study from. It's good that students learn from listening and note-taking but not all children learn that way (hence the different learning techniques). Even college students use textbooks! Share the resource text or change the school's social studies text to what the teacher is using. With the amount of information Social Studies have - students need all the text/source they can have.I believe that it is such a waste of resources to not let these teachers handle subjects that they are truly experts in. These particular Immac experiment is not working or benefitting our children. And then, we are told to not air our complaints on the web and inform them directly. With the way that children can be targeted? This is the safest venue. I really hope they rotate these teachers back to their own subjects. There is a reason they excel in it and have chosen to teach it for years. Let the students benefit from it.

Prior to enrolling my child into ICS, I heard nothing but great things about this school. I want the best education for my child and ICS seemed like it would be it. The tuition: We pay tuition for July and August, when our kids are not in school. The teachers: Do not really pay attention to the kids. My child comes home with a full lunch kit and when walking into the school in the mornings, her teachers don't even pay attention to notice of she's there in the line or not. If I could give this school 0 stars, I would. I don't understand how this is a private school.
