Oyster Bay High School is a very good school. The class sizes are small which provides students a great opportunity to participate and learn. Academically, the course work could be more demanding to better prepare students for college.

Great school!! Large enough to offer diversity and challenging programs. Small enough for individuals to get to know everyone on a first name basis.

This small High School gives children so many opportunities to participate and shine, where they might not have the chance in a larger school. There are a myriad of after school clubs. The students are exceptionally talented in the Fine and Performing Arts, thanks to the support of the school and community. The administration, faculty and staff care a great deal about the well being of the children. There is great support from the administration, headed up by Dr. Dennis O'Hara (who greets the students every day outside the school), the social worker (the beloved Mr. Matthew Brown) the teachers, coaches, support staff, etc. The children themselves are terrific - which is a reflection on the parents and their involvement. Many children come to the High School from the private schools - and the children and parents wonder why they didn't make the switch earlier. I like the economic diversity in the community as well - there doesn't seem to be such a distinction between the haves and the have nots as in other nearby communities. We have been very happy with our children's experiences here.

Oyster Bay School has not been a good experience, I would have to say that they focus more on discipling children rather than teaching. There attendance at the school must be horrendous, because all they do is stress if your not in school after so many absences they will fail you. Detention also seems to be there favorite word. Living a nightmare in Oyster Bay.
