I have 2 children who have been at Leman since its inception and I couldn't feel happier about my experience. Although the management and faculty has changed a few times over the years they continue to improve their process in every way. The environment is enriching, supportive and nurturing. The current management is doing an amazing job and it shows in the student body. Go Bulls!

I just graduated from college and this school has had a lasting negative effect on me and they trace back here.I transferred from a bad public high school in 2011 after I couldn't tolerate the bullying and lack of caring towards students any more. I had hoped that taking out the loans to go to this private school would be my saving grace. I couldn't have been more wrong. First thing, I applied to Claremont and when I got there it was Leman, and half the high school had either left or been expelled. I quickly realized that Leman's goal was publicity and a forced sense of tradition. After agreeing with Drew to adopt a business casual dress code to begin to approach school in a more professional matter, in the fall we were forced to buy $40 dollar starchy itchy shirts as part of the new uniforms instead. The 2nd year I was there we had a new principal whose main concern was girls shouldn't wear clothes that "make it possible to see the outline of your body" not the students who were bullied relentlessly or the teacher who would yell at the students and eat nuts in class. To Leman expelling a bullied student who failed a class by 3 points makes more sense than allowing a teacher to scream at his students that even "GOD CAN'T HELP YOU". Or the fact that the college guidance counselor berates and tears you down so students only apply to safety schools (acceptances make them look better). The inconsistency was astonishing. Students would get away with anything because of their parents' influence and teachers would laugh along with them. They didn't have AP or Honors classes and switched over to IB in the middle so although many of us took IB classes we didn't get any credit for it. Not to mention that there was no talk about college courses or internships, ever. And that NYTimes article about the international students going to broadway shows and eating at swanky restaurants? They mostly come to the school for 1 year and spend quite a bit of their time drinking and partying with the other wealthier students. Now I went to a private elementary school so I know how amazing some of these can be, but Leman is a for profit nightmare that just doesn't care about its students. It should end at 8th grade. Oh then the french teacher became the principal and the health teacher went to jail.

I have had my two kids at Leman from pre k and now into 6th grade and I can honestly say this school is probably among the best in the city. There is a true sense of community, a commitment to the happiness and success of the students and some of the best facilities anywhere. Yes there has been a lot of change, yes there have been ups and downs but, as a new school change is expected and in this instance, has been fantastic. We commute to the school and I have asked both kids if they want to change schools so as to ease the burden of the commute and neither of them would dare let me enroll them somewhere else. Leman's focus on the arts, community, strong international focus most importantly the quality of learning is helping to mold my children into becoming excellent human beings. We couldn't be happier.

The school administration and teachers are fantastic. Although it's a private school in a big city, you feel as though you are part of a small community/school that knows your child's interests/needs academically and emotionally. Very satisfied with all aspects of school.

As a former student of both Leman and Claremont, let me strongly advise you never to send your child there. When I started off as a freshman, the school was still Claremont. It was so wonderful. Much more creative, supportive environment, and I felt they really valued each and every student. When it changed to Leman, half of my favorite teachers left. It became this pressure-cooker, hellish environment. The workload was absurd, teachers were rude, and it was very hard to feel supported and cared for. I was struggling with lgbt related issues, and was constantly bullied, and never got any help from anyone there. I eventually was expelled because I failed my chemistry class by 3 points. My parents were actually happy about this, because of how unhappy I was. I had one of the worst experiences of my life at Leman. They try to portray themselves as this amazing place, but once you're there it is anything but. Trust me.
