This school is really an excellent school! My class has been accepted to the best high schools in New York City, (public and private). All the teachers are nice and the academics are of a very high level. Our 8th grade teacher, Mrs. Wise, is probably one of the best teachers in New York City. ICS students are highly intelligent and the school won the Manhattan Catholic Math Challenge.

Immaculate Conception has been a perfect fit for our family. We have 2 kids in the school one attends the lower grades and another the higher grades. It's definitely a change from public school and it took some adjustment for our older child. Classes are smaller therefore all the kids know each other. The principal is very warm and welcoming, she has helped our family tremendously during our first year here. She is very strict but kind and always willing to help. This is a huge change for us since the principal at their old school was never available. The school is challenging academically, but it does lack in other areas. The communication can be a lot better between teachers and parents, we had to do some digging to find out how they were doing. They have apps where they update homework and project assignments and if you message teachers they respond to you very quickly. The after school program offers music, choir, dance, krav maga and I think soccer. It would be nice to see more programs targeted for middle school aged kids. The participation is high with the lower grades. It has is pros and cons but overall it's a much better experience for our kids. They complained about the uniforms but we haven't heard about any bullying or issues with what one person has and what another doesn't. Overall it's been a good solid first year, we look forward to next year.

I have a preschool age child attending this school . From the first day she has looked forward to going to class to see her teachers and friends. There is nothing greater than knowing your child enjoys her time at school. class size is small and the community of teachers and parents really create a feeling of community. It works for our family.

I guess the school keeps deleting the reviews they don't like. Many of the positive reviews here are written by the staff. A couple of years ago they had some students locked in a fridge during a field trip. They give tremendous amounts of homework that don't contribute to family life nor extra curricular activities, nor a healthy way of life for children. They don't even have a proper area for children to play. They hold recess in a parking lot or in a narrow passage way between the church and the school building. They don't allow children to run during recess, they get detention if they see them running. This school does not look out for the best interest of the children they enroll, they are more of a prison. My kid was so happy when we pulled him out of this school. I do not recommend it to anyone who has their child's best interest in mind.

This school has been amazing for my child. The negative reviews on here are unfortunate, sad and unnecessarily malicious. In terms of the school - the teachers know all the students in all of the grades. They are warm and welcoming and make it a point to say good morning to everyone unlike some of the parents in the school. Mrs. Barry is incredibly kind, caring and patient. Ms. Bua ALWAYS has a smile on her face which is a real delight first thing in the morning. If you have more than one child attending this school, you're incredibly lucky as there is a break on the tuition - something you don't find everywhere in the city. I can't recommend this school enough. There are always a couple of bad apples in the bunch but this school / staff is incredible. Keep up the good work!!!!
