Terrible! This was my son's first school. They have told me that based on the screening, they would classified the kids by knowledge level, motor skills and that they would take into consideration that my son was never exposed to a school before. My son is smart for his age, he needs to be challenged. Well that never happened. They put with kids way below his level to the point that he regressed. Came home with horrible behavior which is normal but if he would have been with more mature kids that wouldn't happen. His classmates unfortunately were worst that the rest of the other classrooms. You could tell by their behavior and classroom assignments.I have spoken to the Director and her assistant to have my son switch classrooms and they completely brushed me off and ignored my request. I know they have been educators for years and decades. Every child is different...they probably thought " Ehhh just another arrogant mother" I know my son since the day he was born and I knew that classroom was not good for him. Again, you could tell by the kid's assignments.I guess this is why it is not in the top 5 schoolsDown below was the first assignment- Just by that the teachers and principal should have moved my son to a different classroom. He didn't belong there.
Mixed feelings about Windsor Academy. I've known three different teachers who have worked here and none of them had gleaming things to say about the school (2 left on their own accord, 1 was let go by the director). We had an ok experience here. Troublesome behaviors from a few teachers, which we brought to the attention of the director numerous times, left a sour taste in our mouths. For the amount of tuition you will be paying to send your child here, the teachers are not required to do any sort of annual teacher education/child care training, and receive compensation close to minimum wage. There are many more options in the surrounding area I suggest parents go and visit. WA may be the right fit for you, but don't decide before looking around first.
I have had my two children at Windsor Academy for the past two years, and could not be more pleased with the quality of this very special daycare. The quality of eduction is outstanding, the teachers are wonderful and the director Rita Epstein is, to quote another parent, 'a true children's advocate'. I would recommend this daycare to anyone!
I have had my children in three daycares since they were born and this school is the absolute best! Rita Epstein is a true children's advocate and my son's teacher Marisa Pixley is wonderful.
I am pleased to be the first parent to comment on this fabulous school. I have had both children at Windsor Academy since the age of two. I am incredibly pleased at the involvement of all the teachers, the programs available are outstanding and the communication between teachers, director and parents is outstanding. I am so very pleased with the quality of the education (even at the tender age of two!) and all the fun they are having.
