There's so much bad to say about Jericho High School. I attended this school over a decade ago because, like 99% of the other students there, I grew up in a life of privilege. I attended a great university and I work as a software engineer and I love my job. That being said, I attribute almost none of it to JHS other than the fact that it got me into college. Grade inflation is a huge problem at this school. If you don't do well enough in your classes, they send you to the "learning center" which was basically just teachers sitting with you while you took exams so they could help you with the answers. Parents routinely came into the school to yell at teachers, who were more afraid of the students and their parents than not sufficiently educating children and so pushy parents would guarantee their children received straight As. Just a joke in so many ways. That said, if you want your child to succeed in life then honestly going to this school is probably not a terrible thing. They'll have a good chance of going to a great university and doing great things in their lives. They just won't learn anything of value while they're in HS.

I received a fantastic education, made lifelong friendships, and learned from fantastic, caring teachers. I loved JHS and its culture of taking education seriously while supporting students at all phases of their lives.

The new principal Rosenberg is a real b****. She has no interest in helping students or parents, no integrity, no skills, rude and arrogant. She managed to have the previous principal kicked out and got his job. In case you wonder how she did it? Her mother was on the district's education board. So go figure. It's only a matter of time that this high school will go down the drain under her leadership, sadly.

I graduated from JHS in the early 90s. Jericho was ranked #1 in the state and in the top 20 nationally. I excelled as an athlete but was a solid B student. I did go to college with 18 college credits and felt very prepared when going to class. I earned my B average and worked at it. Jericho teachers helped in every possible way. School just life is what you make of it. If you put in effort, you get rewarded. The diverse courses are great and the teachers do care and are engaged. They never went "through the motions." Yes there was always a bad teacher, but that makes you appreciate the better ones. Drivers Ed, dissecting cats, etc. this was a top notch education. I earn a 7 figure income and owe a lot of the life lessons to JHS. It's a great place and the taxes are well worth it. Every school has clicks. Significant wealth exists here and it spills into the school and students. Being wealthy isn't a bad thing (unless you are Bernie Sanders)-let's be real folks-you want your children around successful people. Raise your children with good values and they can see through the materialistic BS. Amazing district and anyone would be lucky to go here.
