After spending all our school years at UNIS, we didn't realize how great it was until we started touring high schools. When we asked the hs student about their current studies, the majority of the projects (especially Science, English and Humanities) were covered by UNIS in middle school. UNIS also has the kids create Math projects (similar to science projects) as well as foreign language in every grade.Con: The school doesn't prepare the kids well for "timed" test. The school will cover all the material required for SHSAT and other standardized test. But the school concentrates on the kids learning and exploring, not regurgitating. Therefore they are very lenient when it comes to time to complete an exam. I prefer this learning style, but timed test is a reality the students will face regardless of the educational path. The school could concentrate a little more on efficiency after the students have a full grasp of the concepts.

My daughter went all 9 years and loved it. As a parent, I also loved it. We had incredible access to the teachers and administrators and felt that they all supported our family.

Excellent! Our son did very well here. School helped in every way possible in his primary and middle school years. Some ares of improvements - Teachers should be reviewed by the students every year - this is being discussed at school already- zero tolerance policy for bullying could be adopted

The worst. We hope we realized it earlier.

Excellent. It is quite expensive, but the UNIS Queens experience was a wonderful one. My children made life-long friends and my wife and I have also made many close friends with other UNIS Queens parents. The parents at the school are intelligent, non-pretentious and sincere people. I have seen other former UNIS Queens students who have graduated from college maintain ongoing close friendships with their former UNIS Queens classmates.
