We could not be more pleased with our school. Our family has made some wonderful friends, all sharing common values and goals. My husband and I are frequently amazed at what our child is learning and able to do. She was fluently reading halfway through kindergarten and in 1st grade learned and comprehended math and science concepts that we remember being taught in 3rd and 4th grade. We had a few problems understanding the "new math" but we all started a group chat and help one another - with homework and community activities. Great experience - truly feel part of the community and family.

This school does not support educational and character development of Minority Children, its leadership is lacking tremendously. Several minority children have been called repeated derogatory names and racial slurs by other white students and the Principal does nothing. The Parents (mostly mothers) are groupies towards the Principal thus creating favoritism and labeling. Not a good school for minority children in any way. Over 90% Caucasian, thus lacking the resources needed for socialization sensitivity. There are no minority Teachers. How is it Possible for children to see themselves through their teachers when they cannot relate. Definitely suggest to find a more diverse school for Minority children

We are very happy at St Columba. Our kids learn more then just academics. They learn the importance of respect. Math has changed and gotten stronger over the years and our children work hard and learn and improve every year. St Columba has many parents that participate and are very active in helping the school. Our Principal is a true leader. She has transformed the school in the past 2 years with the day to day use of technology! Highly recommend it!

As an academic, my child's schooling has always been one of my highest priorities. Totally disenchanted with the public school system, it became clear early on that private school would be a must. I looked for a strong academic program, combined with sense of community and a curriculum that would allow for personal growth of my child and I have found exactly that with SDSC. My daughter is in Kindergarten and they are already teaching Spanish and *real* computer skills - something the public schools don't even visit for years to come. My daughter is constantly challenged and an amazing support staff of educators. Bonus points for all of the volunteer work and community involvement this school requires. I have never been a practicing Catholic, but this school actually has me reconsidering. I love the sense of community shared by all. Sister Kathleen is fantastic and we LOVE that she brings her dog with her. Couldn't be happier. Highly recommended. NOTES: if you are considering this school (or any private school for that matter)- be prepared for a ton of involvement. If you aren't the type to get involved with after school activities, or feel that you don't have the time...you may want to consider public school There is a lot of involvement required by the families. I do find this taxing at times (I have a demanding work schedule personally)- but my child's education is a high priority for me, so we work it out.
