Hilton High School Ratings & Reviews

As a former student I can definitely say that the Hilton CSD is one of the best districts in Monroe county. The school has prepared me and my colleagues to excel in universities. Many in my class attend world class universities such as Cornell, New York University, MIT, and the University of Pennsylvania. The district has done everything in their power to hire promising teachers that are passionate in their subject. If one studies during their time here, it will be beneficial to them as I feel more prepared in college than my other classmates in college do. Overall a fantastic school, don't bother sending them to a private school unless religion is important in your child's education.

Reading the responses, I'd like to see more reported by parents and less by students, or a separate section for student comments. As a parent, i could not ask for a better program for my child. He is very involved in the music program, which is top-notch, winning Grammy awards the past 2 years, going on trips to allow students to learn from masters in the field. In addition, my son is a top scholar, ranked in the top 5 of his class. There are many AP, IB and Honors classes available, plus the counselors are willing to meet with students/parent to be sure that each student is getting involved in courses that will stimulate them and allow them to not only learn, but to grow. My son's counselor, after hearing he was thinking of engineering as a career, suggested a local summer program at the University of Rochester, got us the application & wrote his a reference so nicely that it earned him a scholarship. I find the teachers, for the most part, will go out of their way for a student who is eager, willing to learn and respectful. While this school does have its share of sports, there are many non-sport clubs and activities to get involved in, something more parents should do!

I believe this school really needs to adapt better teaching methods based on a childs needs and not on what the school wants for test scores. When the kids dread going to school each day it makes for a bad learning environment.

The academic programs are plentiful although they focus to much on the athletic program. Its not that I do not like the athletics it is just that I think that we need more academic interest. The school is mainly focused on sports. The Teachers are very kind and funny. But sometimes they are a little out of touch. The Extra curricular clubs are also fun to do. The school is about average to me.

The academic programs are amazing. They need a little work on controll and a lot of work on making sure that they are award of everything that does go on in their classrooms. The is a lot of school spirt so, sport are a major plus. I also know that a lot of kids make their whole high school while being based on music, so that program is great. Also i think musical is an amazing after school thing for the kids making sure they are on track and things. The level of parent incolvement i think is low becuase it always seems like the same parents that are involved. Over it is an amazing school.
