Elwood John Glenn High School Ratings & Reviews
Great school! Teachers really care about the students.
I can not understand the negative reviews on this school that I have read. This school is listed at a 7, it should be at least a 9! The only negative that I can see could be its size. It may lack a few specialty programs that the larger school districts may have but I feel it is not worth the sacrifice that the benefits of a smaller school district gives. The administration and teachers do care about the students education and their safety. The music department is great and so are the sports programs with teams that play at a level of talent of the larger schools, for example our volleyball team and coach that's well known and second to none! Bottom line .... If education is the decisive factor in picking an area to live this should be at the top of your list!!!
I attended John Glenn and graduated with the class of 1999. During my four years at John Glenn I had a great experience and the teachers and staff were all top notch. When you have such a small amount of students in each class year, it makes for smaller actual classroom sizes and more 1 on 1 attention. Best 4 years of my life!
This school, although smaller than any district does an excellent job in making sure parents are alerted to their child progress. My children have excelled on this district and in this school.. Some people will never be happy with a school system and you have to really know your children. Glenn is rated high performing and their sports programs for a smaller school is also excellent , the volleyball team has gone to state a few times as well as football. We have had students get into Princeton and other high profile schools as well due to their academic achievements here and sports achievements as well. The parents who complain are the same ones that never attend a PTA meeting or is involved in any way with the school. The kids...well ..the ones who don't want to study or think outside the box will complain about tests not outlined for them....they need to grow up...Good Job Elwood and John Glenn!!
As a student that attends this school, I can tell you that every student who attends on a daily basis, absolutely hates the school. 90 percent of the teachers do a poor job and enjoy seeing kids struggle. They also enjoy making everyone's life more miserable. The tests that are given are usually nothing like the review or ten times harder. Days in middle school used to be the glory days. Overall the high school is a poorly run place run by people with no common sense.
