I love the diversity of the population of Riverside. We have students from all over the world who are at Riverside to become lifelong learners.

School is going through rough times for a myriad of reasons. A large number of students are bussed in and usually disruptive and do not want to be in school, making teaching and learning difficult for everyone. The school is poorly managed, attendance records are haphazard, and many teachers believe that the students run the school. The principal is either unwilling to or is incapable of fixing the many management issues that plague the school. The only major link to college attendance is the partnership with Medaille College, but considering Medaille's reputation as being a very poor value for education, this likely won't help Riverside's standing. This could be a good school but is a typical example of past mistakes made in Buffalo's history as well as the Machiavellian leadership style of New York State's Department of Education and Commissioner King.

Of all the public schools in Buffalo, Riverside has been growing within their caring staff, building renovations, and of course athletics. Ever since I graduated from Riverside in 2003, it has been one of the better High Schools with a diverse population. The sports program is great and it is right next to the lake.
