The Co-op School Ratings & Reviews

We have 2 kids in the school and love it there! The Coop School teachers are amazing and well supported by the administration, which I think goes a long way to why we continually get good teachers. I have gone to a bunch of the curriculum meetings that they hold every year and I can really see the philosophy come through in the class room. I see the Reggio Emilia influence (the observation of the children and then trying to follow their lead) in the teacher literally taking notes at some points during the day on the what the kids are saying and doing and then following that to figure out where the next inquiry project should go. They come at the different subjects in the older years (reading, writing, math, etc) from many different angles to help the kids figure out what learning style works best for them. It is truly a special place.

I have 2 children at the co-op school- one in pre school and one in the elementary school- and we love it there. Both my kids are very different learners and The Co-op school engages the learning styles that work best for them. Every teacher we have had has been fantastic. I also love that they celebrate every child's uniqueness. We feel very lucky to be there.

The Co-op School is the best! My child runs into the classroom everyday and begs to stay at pick-up. Seriously. Pretty much everyday. The parents and teachers I have met there over the last 4 years have grown to become heartfelt friends. I can't say enough good things about the culture, diversity and approach to education. My kids sing songs about the days of the week and use math skills to sort their french fries between them at dinner. Learning can be fun! Oh.. and they both kill it on tests, so I know something's working. I wish I could take credit for teaching them all their skills.... but at least I can take credit for putting them in a school where the amazing educators make a real impact.

The Co-op School is a great place for any kids with differences. The environment is warm, inclusive and incredibly diverse. We have found the staff and teachers to be more than accommodating to our needs, while simultaneously treating our son just like any other kid on the block. This is the magic combo we were looking for. Our class had a few kids receiving services, but as a testament to the amazing teachers, I was never exactly sure who the other kids receiving services were. There was a SEIT in the class for another student who worked seamlessly with the staff and from what I understand, services are provided on-site for some (we continued with our services outside of the school this year). At this time I don't have any suggestions for improvement, and couldn't be happier with our experience, but will update my review as needed throughout the year and into the next. Exceptional is the best word to describe the coop school. My child has attended the coop school since the age of 2 and is currently in its pre-k program. She is fully supported in a loving environment. The community feeling the school creates is incredible. Everyone is included in supporting the school with fundraising, cleaning and maintenance events which creates a sense of ownership and pride. Wonderful teachers and great programs that allow children to thrive no matter what their strengths. My child has wood shop, art, music, Spanish, and capoeira or yoga on a weekly basis. Math and literacy are seamlessly taught within other activities daily. My child has blossomed and has an amazing set of skills at such a young age. The elementary program is evolving and is a competitive option. Communication between teachers, administrators and parents and students is beyond exceptional. The director of the school is amazing and has responds to %99 percent of my emails within the same day, if not within an hour which is most usual. I receive daily emails on my child's day and its happenings and constantly updates on her progress. Overall, we couldn't be happier.
