I am a parent this will be my child's second year in this school and in my eyes this school was not prepared for my child the teachers she had act worst then the kids the principle acts of if she don't care me myself had several meeting with the and was never able to get the help my child needed sad thing I requested a transfer and was denied so i have to deal with them for the 2015-2016 school year.

My daughter went to hsmp for 3 years . When we were looking for high schools when she was in middle school we went to a high school fair and we noticed Hsmp right away because my daughter is interested in the medical field. They promised so much, they said she will be having classes to prep her for the medical field they told us when she graduated she would be getting some sort of medical certificate or degree for a head start in the medical field. As the years went by we got more disappointed because nothing they promised we saw. The teacher really don't care. The principal nobody respect and can't control her kids , there is no programs not enough sports and 0 motivation for these kids .This is my daughter last year and she doesn't want to continue here. We are moving out of state and not even considering letting my daughter stay and finish the year.Iam so disappointed

I am a teacher at this school. Most teachers do care. We give up so much of our time to try to help. There are six marking periods; we do communicate that fact to students and the parents whom we can reach. Teacherease is updated weekly and we do make students aware of the regents scores and exams.

HSMP has the potential to be a great school. I believe that most of the teachers care about their students, but not all. I believe that most of the children want to succeed in life, but not all. If they could weed those people out, it would be a much happier place. I think the school communications needs improvement. From the beginning of the school year, I believe parents and students should be informed that there are four semesters, two of which go on the child's college transcript. They should also make them aware of all the regents that are needed and the grade which is considered to be college ready. When regents prep is going on, if the child is not scoring well, I believe the teachers should reach out to all involved to make sure the child is getting the proper help. We want our kids to be college ready, not just to pass. Teacherease is a very helpful tool. I beleive it should be mandatory and that teachers should update them daily...especially if the children will be penalized for not submitting work in a timely fashion. Some very smart children need to be micro-managed for whatever the reason and that could definitely help to increase their grades.
