The DOE needs to shut this school down ASAP! PARENTS DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE! I PULLED MY SON OUT BECAUSE IT IS CHAOS. If you are a talented teacher, DO NOT WORK HERE!

This school has changed for the better. I worked at Fahari for a three years and things have changed. There is a vast change. Our school is a happy place. We have wonderful children and we love their parents. Our parents are the most supportive that I have ever worked with. They know that educating is a partnership. I would encourage everyone to come and visit and make your own decision. Talk to our dedicated teachers and students. Please ask current families what their experience has been. Families have embrassed the new Fahari.

I am a parent of a former student at Fahari, I am very disappointed in the fact that I am also a very involved parent. I even did my Field Observation for my Master's at this school. I sat in the classes with my son and observed, kids being rude and disrespectful, not listening or paying attention, and in some case certain teachers not interested wither. At the end of the school year, my son got a letter stating that he was to repeat the grade. I was with him 75% of the time, they gave me glowing reviews and then they gave him that. I attended classes with him that his advisor taught, that was it for me, he is in a better school and advancing wellin his classes. He even is now the Soar Captain, which is the equivalent to Class President in his grade. I did not do my research and failed my son to day that I allowed him to go to Fahari. And on the topic of the principal, I never saw her so they did not fire much!!!!!!

To the parent below me: I am an overly involved parent. I attended EVERY school meeting, frequently visited the school, sat in my child's classrooms, went on the field trips, etc... and I still insist that this school is/was ran horribly!!! Which is why the principal was fired! This lacks the 'vision' that it is supposedly built upon. For a school that boasts on PRIDE (Fahari means pride in Swahili) and with a predominantly black student body, this school has no mention or teachings of slavery in America instead the students are taught about the German holocaust. The vision of this school is gone. Good luck to the children who are still there. I'd rather homeschool :)

I pulled my son out of public school and put him in this school and I have no regrets. Parents who speak ill of this school are the one who do not come out to any of the meetings so they do not know what is happening in the school. I am present at every meeting in the school and they are normally only about 10 frequent parents in the meeting, where are all the other parents and how much do they really know about the school. Since my child started this school he has not done any summer school, he is passing all his subjects because I am an involved parent. I do not wait for the teachers to call me,I call them or I go to the school because they have an open door policy. The next question is how many of them know we have a new principal...I know because I am always there and I keep intouch although I am a parent working two jobs.
