Our experience has been good so far . All the teachers in the many years our kid has been in St Francis have been good so far. More important our Kid is reading above grade level and math scores are very good.Reviews here should be based on Grade your Child is in to be more fair.1) PK3 Teacher is very good2) PK4 Teachers since Universal PRE K - PRE K for ALL are all new and have not been good . Especially since they are following New York State Public teacher requirements.3) Kindergarten through 3RD Grade the teachers range from Great - Good - Good - Great If you must review good or bad - please tell us what GRADE your reviewing .

Please do not send your children here. There is no support in place for any child who may need extra help, little to no communication with parents, and with one or two exceptions, the teachers lack professionalism, and often basic grammar skills. The current principal seems heavily medicated and appears to have trouble with speech and maintaining eye contact. Will be removing my children from this awful environment as soon as possible.

I'm sorry to say, but this school is not being lead in the right direction. Although a new intercom system has been place in the school this year, there has not been a consistently working phone for parents to call into the school since October 2014! Programs such as "Student of the Month" (which allow students to be positively reinforced and show their school pride) do not get recognized until MONTHS after a child has been awarded it. The school has not had a school play in over 2 years, with the reasoning always being pointed back to the Pastor (we are not a parish school any longer, he can't be the blame for EVERYTHING!). Kindergarten class this year has 40 kids, 2nd grade has 36...class size is a huge issue with many parents. Thank goodness we have teachers that try their best in the situations they are forced to be in. Lower grades used to have Spanish as a Special, that just disappeared and has no signs of returning. There is no Principal presence during school lunch periods, lunch recess, etc. Parents do not not get written monthly updates from the Principal on the state of the school/monthly events. Maintenance of the school is also a huge problem and not only things that require major repairs...things like sweeping, mopping, shoveling, polishing, etc. There is no doubt that there are many things that the school has to face that are out of their control, but with that said, we should be able to capitalize on the things we do have control of and we are failing miserably at it. I'm sorry, but after investing many years at this school...I will be unfortunately pulling my child out, I cannot continue to "wait: for things to change.

Unfortunely this is not the school it once was. I don't mean decades ago, I mean just a few years ago. This was a school on track to be a great school but under the guidance of the current principal the school is terrible. I nor anyone I know has ever seen the pricipal out of her office, in a classroom, cafeteria, gym or yard during school hours. How can you lead a school with your eyes closed? The teachers are outdated as is the curriculum. There is little or no disipline or consequences for bad behavior, especially in the upper grades. I don't even want to start to speak about the church pastor, who does less than zero for the students or families of the school and parish. There are to many better options nearby, so stay away!
