Nevada Connection Academy is worse than any public school that is in the United States. I would not recommend this school for anyone.

Quality education, passionate and dedicated Staff at NCA. Public Schools in Las Vegas for Middle and High School have gone down hill. More attention to bullying, race, and status are taking away a proper and deserving education/environment for students. NCA is crucial in keeping a straight path to academic success.

The teachers are really nice and friendly. At least, most of them are. Most are also really helpful, but communication is sometimes not great. It can take several days for a teacher to get back to you, and sometimes their response is not that helpful or results in having to send a reply that, again, takes time to receive an answer to. The curriculum is fine; nothing great, nothing bad. Except some of the electives and information in lessons can be outdated. But overall, OK. Clubs and activities can be fun, but don't expect to be able to participate a lot if you are in high school. You'll be having to write a lot of time-consuming essays. LiveLesson sessions are great; they're probably one of the better aspects of this school. Another bonus is that I got to use a free computer. Peer interaction is a lacking, but that's pretty much to be expected with an online school. Don't expect a lot of field trips if you don't live in a big city like LA, New York, or Las Vegas. The counselors are nice and can provide some useful information, but don't expect a ton of help and/or guidance.Overall: 3 - AverageEnvironment: 5 (everyone is nice, etc.)Communication: 4 during non-busy months, 1-3 during state testing months, end of semester, etc.Curriculum: 3Clubs: 3-4Workload: 3Socialization: 1-3 depending on where you live

I had three children enrolled this year. The elementary school teacher was very involved in my sons education. She even took the time to help when she didn't have too. My middle schooler and high schooler didn't have the same experience. The main issues they had was some teachers didn't get back to my children when they had questions. My children had to figure everything out by themselves. The teacher gave short answers if they even got a message. We couldn't understand what the teachers wanted and would get short emails back but no answers. I emailed the administration about these issues and they just emails short answers. I had to call the principal and still he showed no concern and didn't solve the problem. The communication between students, teachers, administration, and parents is the main issue. I was told they would help us every step of the way and the truth is your on your own. I was grateful to have an great elementary teacher who really cared. My experience with Connections Academy was not a good one. I will be sending my children to another school.

WE are an Active Duty Officers who have experienced nothing but complications with this school. After a conference call with1) Superintendent2) Principle3) Tier 2 Customer SupportIt was determined that Connections Academy is UNABLE to meet educational needs of Active Duty Military or Gifted students resulting in immediate dis-enrollment that day.. Contact with other Parents has shown the greatest selling point of NCA is getting a free computer and a monthly stipend to pay for Internet access. Their is also the false sense of accomplishment as many parents "Help" their students get higher scores on assessments they would have gotten in a classroom taking tests without their "help".
