This school is absolutely good! My children like this school because of the schoolwork and how they deal bullying!

This is possibly one of the worst places for your child to encounter school first hand. It starts out great, but if you are prepared to watch your child cry walking with his/her class to the classroom from assembly line with you not allowed to to walk them in, this is the school for you. If you are okay to have your child be crying all through recess, have a bleeding gash on the knee and be ignored by teachers and staff? then this is the school for you. There are some jewels for sure in terms of teachers and some staff members, but generally, the administrators are cold and some teachers don't care or they just wash their hands off and don't want to be involved. All these comments of lack of communication are true. They all know the words to say, but nothing changes for your child if he/she ever has issues especially if your child is just acting like a normal 5/6 year old with no IEP. Be prepared for your child to be labeled and done for. If you have a child who has generally mild personality, is able to sit still and does 0 noise level in the classroom whenever he/she is told, this might be the school for you. If you're prepared for your child to occasionally starve during lunch because someone misplaced their lunch for them, this might be the school for you. Your child complaining of a headache? Find out at the end of they day. Forget about being sent to the nurse because they don't believe him/her.All staff and teachers need training on guidance techniques and on building strong relationships with the children. If you are seeking for a school that applies developmentally appropriate practices, this school is NOT for you. Take to heart the comments about how "suspension happy" this school is. It starts at kinder. I saw a review saying how this school is concerned about the "whole child". They cannot be more WRONG. Character building? Forget about it. That seven habits they have is too much and too language driven to mean anything. Kinder Spanish class? Download your lesson plans yourself.Socio-emotional growth? Bullying issues dealt with a ton of suspensions, with no conferences. Whoever wrote that review needs to go back and check on this school again. That aside, you can try building relationships with this school community and it might work. Im talking being there as a "volunteer" almost all day especially if the school cannot handle your child in their premises.Go somewhere else.

Agree with many of the previous comments. Lots of favoritism here and immature and unprofessional teachers and staff. No care for the success of the students. Pulling my daughter out for high school - no way I will ruin her education and future. Very unorganized and staff does not want to address issues. Response is generally that parents are required to track grades and keep all completed work! What a joke!! Sad that CCSD funds this place - use the money for magnet schools, which are great by the way! Do not go here!

This school was great but it has changed a lot. I noticed there's a lack of communication between the parents and the administration. The teachers (for the most part) we're great. The only issue was not getting emails back when I asked questions. I had no idea my daughter was failing math till I got a report card. Which brings it back to the lack of communication. When I tried to address issues with the administration but felt dismissed. I really want to work with the school so I can be an active part of my child's education but it's been difficult. Hopefully this can change.

I am beyond disgusted by this school. My 4th grade child has an amazing teacher and she has learned so much from him which is not my complaint in the least. What I am beyond disgusted about is the middle school. I have never seen such disorganization, lack of care for the children's well-being, and a we don't care attitude from a school before. My son is in 7th grade and his math teacher is an absolute joke, she speaks very broken english and very softly to the point the kids struggle in her class. They have no care to discuss what can be done to get grades better. Their zero tolerance for bullying is a joke!! My son was punched in the back 6 times in the middle of engineering class, in front of the teacher, and my son gets in trouble for defending himself. I have demanded his schedule be changed to get him away from this bully kid and the Vice P basically told me they don't do that! WHAT IN THE WORLD!!! I thought I was sending my kids to get a better education but instead my son is in danger, he hasn't learned a darn thing and the administration could careless about it. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!! I am putting mine out as I type this!
