Incline High School Ratings & Reviews
Many wonderful caring teachers who go the extra mile to help students whether it's helping a slower student catch up or an advanced student excel. Once kids are in AP classes it's like a private school with excellent instruction and smaller classes. The office staff is friendly and the new principal seems very good.
Seems to be a great school if the student attending is in advanced courses, otherwise the average class students are not challenged enough and seem to have less motivated teachers when it comes to the average classes. The school could also do something for creating a more peaceful and less hostile environment, when you look and take account for the disrespect some teachers face and the near fights that get started in the school or the fights that are planned for off campus. I would also like to mention that there should be a better watch for cheating on tests and quizzes, when students in mostly advanced courses I noticed passed answers, or texted answers to people before they entered class or at some points during class. I really can't stress enough how closed off the students seem to be and not welcoming and there needs to be a more open behaviour for students to be able to make friends and get along, especially for students that are transferring late into the year, or could possibly be a foreign exchange student. Thank you for reading my review hope improvements are made, it would be better for everyone if there were.
Former student for four years. I couldn't have attended a better High School. Class sizes were small, teachers involved and motivating. Great experience, I would recommend this school to anyone.
Incline High School, the home of the Highlanders, is a public school in name but serves its students and parents more like a private academy. Its teachers are the best, most dedicated, and hard working of any I have had the pleasure of working with these past 32 classroom years! We are about to embark upon a new journey as all three Incline schools adopt the International Baccalaureate Programme!
Realistically, students aren't challenged enough in regular courses at Incline HS. I attended a high school in a different state and then transferred to Incline. After a few months, I realized that the curriculum was a year or two behind that of where I had come from. Once I began to take AP courses, though, I felt challenged. This school is great if you can make it work for you. As far as extracurricular activities, IHS is a great place to get involved. All activities are accessible to everyone. Don't expect a lot of depth--typical of a small school--but there is a fair amount to get involved in and to have fun with considering the size of the school.
