I'm a neighbor of this school. The students constantly toss their trash on the lawns of neighbors as well as in the middle of the street. Students also for some reason refuse to use the sidewalk and walk in the middle of the street in groups and loiter around during lunch break. As to the diversity nonsense I'm not sure how having barely any white students in a school is considered diversity especially since the majority of the white students are Orthodox Jews whose parents can't afford to send them to yeshiva but I guess it sounds nice.

Great diverse environment for children to interact with each other. A great atmosphere for children to learn. My kids love it here.

Our son is a senior at THS and we have had nothing but positive experiences throughout his 4 years here. He has had the advantage of dedicated, knowledgeable, supportive teachers who make sure to be aware of students' needs and abilities, as well as encouraging parent involvement. The principal is a wonderful example of a quality administrator who not only shows that he cares for his building, staff and students, but has always been an active participant and supporter of extra-curricular school activities. The great education our son is receiving at THS is not the only thing we love about it. THS also has many activities, sports and clubs for students to be involved in as well. Our son has grown both musically and personally through his participation in the wonderful music program Teaneck offers. The music instructors as well as the various ensembles available, have really enriched our son's high school years. We are grateful for all of the positive experiences he is having and for the THS administrators, counselors, teachers and staff!

Our family has had a wonderful experience in this school and in this town. We moved to Teaneck because of it's history of diversity and inclusiveness. I was extremely hesitant to have my children in schools where everyone was the same or where they would be one of only a handful of minorities. Teaneck high school has offered us great balance. The kids are friends will people from diverse backgrounds AND they have received a great educational experience. The teachers are very hands on and involved with student achievement and the kids strive to be the best they can. Most of the kids that i've met have an eye towards college. It's not "if" I go to college, it's all "when I get to college." My son in on the edge of the special ed program. That is to say that he has 1-2 replacement classes and he received resource center/pull out support. That's basically a more guided version of studyhall. All of the teachers are quick to be in touch if he goes off course. We work together to keep him on track and so far so good. My child has been a C student all his life. With the help, guidance and good influence available in this school he's now and A-B student. I am grateful!

This school used to have a good reputation,so I've heard. Now that my child has been at the school, different story.Like any school budget cuts don't leave room for many extras like school dances, Big Football field for sports and not much else. The administration can only do so much but they fall into the trend of the system too.Only a small portion of the community gets involved and it's pretty much the same people year after year. Therefore it's easy for those who have selfish intentions, and agendas to dominate. The rumors are true unless your son is an athlete(Basket Ball) he will be pushed down the factory line. They can careless about producing young Minority males of character and distinction rather stereo types.Unless your daughter is an outgoing Terpsy, who grew up or related to a long time residential family she will feel and be treated like an outsider. The students are VERY cliquish because their parent's are.Move,or If you stick in there I've sat in many PTSO meetings and have been grilled as well as other "new to the neighborhood parents" with questions like, What block I live on,if my child "Has been in the elementary or middle school(That's big over here)But Sad truth.
