Hilltop Country Day School Ratings & Reviews
All three of my children have attended Hilltop since Preschool. My twins are currently in 5th grade and my oldest son will be heading into 8th grade in the Fall of 2018. I am so thankful that we found Hilltop when we did and can't think of a better lower school for my children to graduate from. I am confident that when they graduate they will have the skills they need to carry them into whichever high school they choose. Hilltop is an amazing school where the faculty and staff truly care about each and every child. Our head of school Mr. Folan is very hands on. Mr. Folan can be found greeting the children with a firm handshake on their way into the building in the morning, or visiting classrooms throughout the day. Mr. Folan has an open door policy and the children feel comfortable approaching him if need be. The core values of the school are responsibility, respect, honesty, courage, and kindness. Students are encouraged to conduct themselves with dignity and to act with integrity. Academics are incredibly strong and class sizes are small. The administrations primary focus is always the children. Everything is geared towards making your child successful in school and providing them with the tools to be successful in high school and life. Best decision that we made for our children!
Excellent my son has been there, this is his fourth year and we hope to graduate 8th grade at Hilltop
I can not safe enough good things about Hilltop. First off, my 5 year old son's passed experience at his old pre-K was horrible. He wasn't learning anything or making any sort of lead way in his education, and to top it off there was also a huge bullying problem. We instantly fell in love with Hilltop during our tour of the school, and our son did not want to leave during his 90 min in-class stay. Since then, he attended the summer camp this past summer and had tutoring with wonderful, Ms. Maxwell, that brought him up to and surpassed our expectations of what he would learn during that period. Now he is enrolled in Kindergarten and he is doing amazingly well, and Hilltop (and Miss Petrillo) has played a huge roll in that. The sense of community that we feel with the school is unmatched to the experience my husband and myself had as children, and up until Hilltop with our son. If you are unhappy with your child's current school or you are looking for the perfect place to have your child learn and grow. Do not pass up Hilltop Country Day School as an option for your child. It is truly an amazing gift to give to them.
My son 7 years old 2 nd grade was bullying in this school one year. And principal told me be quiet about it. Every time I came to him - he and "his teachers" told me it was accidents. But my son told me it was bullying. And he told me exactly what's happened even after one month. And my son is very friendly. So it's no reasons tell him not true. Mr. McGee pushed at my son so hard to change version. She told him remember you cut your finger yourself, nobody push you. Last day my son was sitting in the bathroom 30 minutes. He was scared her. Folan told me close mouth or out. And he kicked us out - middle of year. I even will not be tell what I am feeling now.........BUT NOBODY RECOMMEND BRING YOUR CHILD TO HILLTOP!!!!!!!!! SAFE YOUR MONEY AND NERVOUS.
Our daughter is now in her second year here and we couldn't be happier with the progress she has made. All of the staff have been wonderful and the mentoring program of older students helping the younger ones keeps the overall student community very connected. We haven't seen any signs of cliques and students actually police themselves with an incredible sense of integrity.
