My kids are in NUI School since Kindergarten. I am amazed to read some of the messages here. My experience with school is extremely positive. Amid restricted resources, the teachers as well as administration work hard on kids and their issues. I hope the compensation of teachers can be increased coz they surely deserve better.

This school is known to be very oppressive, when it comes to actual religion they don't even follow that. Girls are forced to wear hijabs inside and outside of the school, they go crazy. Even some of the teachers don't wear it and some teachers' posts on social media is not even near Islamic manners. Kids at this school are doing things they shouldn't (you should understand what I mean). Parents have no clue what is going on here. They increase the tuition every year. The classes are not worth paying this tuition for. Public schools have better education. Save your children from this school.

The teachers are incompetent and don't know how to teach. The curriculum is at least a year behind. There is favoritism throughout the school and a distinct hierarchy. Don't torture yourself or your children by coming to NUI.

Wherever you attend school- people will have issues with it. I graduated from this school and although its not perfect, it was an amazing experience. I know parents who complain if there is any homework given or any summer assignments, at the same time there are parents who complain its not enough, so before you read all the comments you have to understand there are always people who will be unhappy no matter what you do. This school is an amazing place, 2 kids in my graduting class are attending IV leagues, and every other student is attending a 4 year college. I've been in this school since pre-k and have seen it evolve and grow tremendoulsy in size over time. No other school has teachers and counselors who give so much time, care, & attention. I have family members &close friends who attend various public schools such as Franklin High School & South Brunswick. They were shocked at how much time our counselors spent with us to go over our college applications, essays, scholarships, & programs. This school is NON-profit, so the teachers aren't paid the best, but they still come to teach anyway, & they are experienced at every level. As for bullying- that is something that is not encouraged by the school in any way, shape, or form. We have different programs with counselors in high school regarding bullying, peer pressure, social media, health conditions such as: anxiety, depression, etc. The school even brings in people in fields such as nutrition, psychiatry &psycology to speak to us in more detail about specific issues or topics that may impact students in any way. The administration goes above and beyond to make sure the school is run properly. Unfortunately, many people hear one side of some story and spread rumors which is truly heartbreaking. I have met some of the most influential and motivational teachers at this school. I definitely learned my deen, met my best friends here, and still had the "h.s. experience" by being part of many amazing clubs. I wouldn't trade it in for any other experience. This is an amazing instituion, and I highly recommend sending your children here. My advice is if you have any problems with a teacher or administrator, request a meeting and speak to them directly to solve the issue rather than just complain about it at these dinner parties. I hope this helped and plan to send my kids here in the future IA!

The school is poorly run and managed. The financial statements of the health of the school are shared with the parents 6-8 months late and are false and misleading. The Board presents revenue and expense data that is misleading and does not agree with the same set of information that is shared later. Their auditor is an in-house family friend. For a school that is supposed to operate as an Islamic School it holds and displays 0 islamic values. The board and administration is bullish. I know several parents including myself who have taken their kids out of the school and have struggled to get them to be at equal level in public school. NUI curriculum is so poor the children are one or more years behind public school core level curriculum. The Board is not receptive to listening to feedback or any change for that matter. They cover up survey results and bully the entire community. The donations they receive are not being used properly, they use the donations for whatever purpose they see fit. very disappointing and disheartening
