I had two kids in this school for 4 years, so we totally have 8 teachers plus music teacher, art teacher, PE teacher and computer teacher, totally about 16 teachers. 5 of them deserve A++ because they inspired my children. I gave 7 of them A as they cared about students and were eager to improve students academially, and 4 of them are B (either unexperienced young teachers or impatient teachers). Overall, I am very happy to have my kids studied here for 4 years. They loved the school. On weekends, they would ask me "Is tomorrow Monday?" That says a lot about their feelings of school. One last word, if your kid would be in Mr. Seagal's class, he/she is really lucky!

Both my kids went to JFK when they were young so I can safely write my opinions on the education system here. If your kid is a high achiever he would be recognized for all his abilities and efforts but if your kid is a high ability kid who needs challenge beyond what is required in the regular or enrichment classroom/group you are in for a big trouble. There are very limited teachers in the school who are capable of or should I say have an eye to identify high ability kids. Both my kids were gifted (one went to harvard and the other recently got into princeton with full scholarship) and when they had attended this school, they had to go through a tough time to receive challenge to their ability. The AI program in the district is flawed. They are really good in identifying kids who are moderately gifted but fail to identify kids who are highly gifted. They rely too much on teacher inputs. Unfortunately, due to the lack of challenge;both my kids never were teacher favorites. All this will change once you get out of this school into intermediate and their true potential is not only identified but tapped in as well. Be really wary if your child is highly gifted and is going to this school.

Both of my kids went to JFK and I can't believe this school isn't rated a 9 or 10. I believe it's rated this way because it doesn't have as many special needs programs as the middle school or high school. There can't be any other reason. The teachers are absolutely wonderful. They are involved with the kids and truly want to help them learn and grow into wonderful citizens. The school gets the parents involved and the small community feeling is what my kids loved there. The middle school and high school are of course, much bigger so my kids really enjoyed the family feel of this school. It was a great beginning to their education process. I would very much recommend this school. You and your kids will absolutely love it there.

Great School and excellent teachers. The school should deserve a rating of 9 or 10. Most of the teachers make an extra effort to develop the kid in an all round manner not only in academics. The homeworks are almost catered to individual kids abilities. The school also recognizes the kids who are advanced and caters to their needs. This is one of the few schools in the district that offers everything - pe, arts, music, computers, etc.
