I am a 9th grader at Wilberforce I have been here for 4 years. My entire experience here has been incredible. When I started I was a year behind in math, within a few short months my teachers caught me up. Math is now one of my favorite subjects. The math and sciences are strong subjects at Wilberforce. So far in biology we don't only memorize facts, we look at the organisms we are studying up-close. We experience modern science through current articles and we discuss the most recent discoveries and how they affect the world around us. Every teacher encourages us to ask questions and yearn to discover. In Humane Letters we are not lectured on the literature we are reading or the history that we are learning, we discuss it and we dive into it. We discover new ideas and discuss them at length. The only reason that we are able to do this is because of our small class sizes. Currently the 9th grade class is about 16 people, this size allows everyone to be heard and to share their ideas. For math we separate by gender, this helps create a safe environment for learning, we are free to ask questions and learn in the way that our minds work. Another benefit to having small class sizes is we create life long relationships, the six girls in class nine are very close, we know each other very well and we lift each other up. Often times at lunch you will find us helping each other with homework, discussing ideas further, or just having fun.

Wilberforce has been an incredible experience. Now a Junior, I came to the school in 6th grade, 6 years ago. Humanities is definitely a strong topic at the school, as literature throughout middle school and Humane Letters in Upper School have been both enjoyable and challenging. With classes focused more on discussion instead of lecturing, it makes the humanities both fun and interesting. Math is focused on truly understanding advanced topics, and Science classes are approached with hands-on labs and field trips. Overall, the academics at TWS are challenging and advanced, yet still enjoyable and bearable. Other than academics the growing athletics and extracurricular teams makes TWS stand out among area schools. A wide variety of growing teams with great coaches gave me options of playing all sorts of different sports I never imagined I'd try.Lastly, the school takes a unique approach to the college process. The counselor Mrs. Antlitz is awesome, and the school definitely starts us early in high school to start considering schools.

This is our 2nd year at Wilberforce. We have 2 children in the school . We are so thankful for loving learning environment Wilberforce has created. They truly have mastered the Art of joyful education. They also put a great amount of focus on character development which supports what we are teaching in our home. Wilberforce truly partners with the parent.

My experience was absolutely miserable. I attended wilberforce from 5th grade all the way to 8th grade. In my time at the school I learned very little to nothing unless it was related to the bible. I was never challenged mentally and I still was able to maintain a straight A average. I spent 5-10 minutes doing homework everyday and never stressed about my education. 1 year ahead is absolutely incorrect. They are 1 year behind if anything. I walked out of this school and went through pain my freshman year of high school. I was completely and utterly left to swim with sharks having never touched the water. I struggled and I blame all of my difficulties on the lack of education that I received here. My one piece of recommendation is that if you have the opportunity to go somewhere else, take it.

This is our first year at Wilberforce and they have gone above and beyond to help us navigate in this new schooling environment. The teachers are A+ and the families have been very welcoming.
