The school is under staffed for the number of students. Their priority's seemed to be off also.

My daughter has been through the PHS school. Currently, my son is attending. I do believe that the school prepared my daughter academically; however, I disliked that fact that if your son/daughter is not a part of the athletic group of parents, then there is no chance of your child making the team. In addition, it is ashame that the staff of teachers or administration is not diverse. I just recently heard that there is an Hispanic history teacher. It is about time, and I wish him the best. PHS and the city Phillipsburg have made great strides with regards to improving any type of racial tensions or stereotypes. Unfortunately, more improvements are still needed. There are many qualified teachers and administrators of all races. Our students need to be aware of this as well.

Awful! My child is African-Amercian. This is a huge high school where 100% of the faculty staff and district employees are white. This doesn't reflect the student multi-racial body. All employees in this district are related to each other in some way by birth or marriage. If you are not from Phillipsburg, do not even attempt to get a job there. They hire their own people. In addition, if your child has any special talent, he or she will always be behind the Phillipsburg School Board member child, behind the teachers or the administrator child. PBurg does not help kids who's parents were not born there. NJ state should really take a deep look at the nepotism here.

Pros - A ton of Sports/Clubs -A large amount of AP, Honors courses -Good-Great Teachers -School Spirit is among the best in the country - Most kids are behaved in the school. -A very good principal. Cons -Overcrowded, although in 2016 there will be a new and large high school for all students and there will be no trailers. -There are 31 Trailers classrooms, and although a majority of them are solid, well built. You have to walk, sometimes a little far to get to your class, and it can be hard to get to class on time. -There is a drug scence here, but it is very easy to avoid the bad kids. There are only a few in this school. -There needs to be a little more security in the school though. It is a good school, and with the new high school being finished in 2016 which is expected to look amazing. This school is defiantly a school I'd want to go too. As a Freshman here I wanted to go to Warren Tech, which is also a great school but only has a few Sports/Clubs and has very little school spirit. But PHS is a good school if you want to meet friendships for a lifetime and get involved, and possibly go to a great college.
