My son has been at the chilren's center since he was 3. He has had his share of good teachers , as well as bad. Although the teachers stay there is a very high turnover rate with the OTs/PTs/STs. This necessarily may not be a bad thing since children with autism need to learn generalization. There home program component is very week and doesn't get better as they get older. But they do try and I can say they genuinely care for the kids. Its not a perfect school and maynot be a good fit for every child but compared to what is out there, this is a good school and I will continue to keep my son there for as long as need be.

My son has been at the center for 15years and when he came here he could talk , throw fits and couldnt read or do math . Now he reads everything he sees ,doesnt throw fits anymore .He works, and even swims ,he dresses himself . He has austim , if it wasnt for the childrens center I dont know what I would do. I am not worried about whats going to happen when we are older, because he has learned all life skills here. Even dealing with money. I cant thank the teachers and aides enough for there help. The people who work there dont do it for the money , you have to love your job and children to do what they do . They also have parent training so you can teach them the same things at home. Thank God for Childrens Center.

Big campus. My daughter is out of here. Autism mixed in with muilt handicapped kids - no way. Short staffed, revolving door with teachers/aides. School uses bus aides (kinder-glide) in classes and then back out in bus at end of day. Lots of money raking here and another storage facility for kids that are not learning. They do behavioral accessments but not on their own students-make a lot of money with DDD and school evals. There is no parent training, no in home consults and no programs for kids. Check this out throughly before you send your child here for an education. This school is a waste.
