My daughter currently attends NA and is a Sophomore. We may be somewhat unique in that we tried over her school years different school systems, Public School , Catholic School, Small independent school and NA. I would say NA is very good on an overall basis. If one were to look at only specific academics such as Algebra in Public School vs NA you may not see that much difference but the packaging across peer group, a balance between extra curricular and curricular activities, opportunities for different clubs, access to teachers etc. Especially notable is stronger writing program. It is hard to make a judgment if this education is worth X dollars but we more often felt it is money well spent than other way especially given it is a crucial stage in kid's life you would want foundation to be strong.

I'm a recent NA alum, and I can tell you personally that its been the best experience of my life and I couldn't be more thankful that NA is where I chose to attend. Every morning when I drove myself to school, I was excited. Sure, there were often days when I was nervous for a test or I felt exhaust, but there was never a day I wasn't excited to see the Dean of students in the hallway, or the headmaster of the school, or any of my classmates. NA has an intense curriculum, and theres no questioning you're child will end up at a college where he or she is happy. I've never talked to one grad from my school who didn't feel over prepared for college-including the ivy leagues. We're a true prep school in the sense that your child will most definitely be prepared for college. My freshman year, NA encouraged me to do a sport, and I had never done so. I became so dedicated to my sport that my junior year i had multiple fine universities trying to recruit me. All of this happened because NA encouraged me to try something new. The closest communities you'll find. NA is one of a kind, and I assure you you'll find nothing else like it. Couldn't have had a better 4 years.

The school is very well organized. They have an amazing faculty, and the courses are very challenging. They are definitely big advocates of learning. However, my child still has fun!!!

When it comes to math education Newark Academy is the place to go. Frequently you will see 6th grades taking Algebra. And in 8th grade they have a class that combines algebra 2 and pre-calclus. Once in a while you see kids take Calculus AB/BC in 9th grade

NE is the best school I attended -- not excluding an Ivy League University and Ivy Law School. The faculty is amazing. The facilities make NA more of a small college than a high school. Oneclook at NA's breathtaking Livingston campus tells the story. It's tough to get in -- but once you're there, you're in a close-knit community of brilliant students, exceptional teachers and coaches, and administrators who care.
