It's been early in our but we are duly impressed. In an area that has so many K-12 private schools that perhaps have been around a bit longer and have "resources" we've been impressed by the quality of this private elementary school. Our child is enthusiastic about school -- learning can't happen if that's not the situation. Next, parents are involved and it's nice meeting and knowing like minded parents who chose a school to maximize their young child's learning potential. The school leadership is very communicative and they really are dedicated to nurturing a student's mind and character. It's a pleasure dropping of my child in the morning. Usually a calming song is playing. You see the teachers and specialty class teachers setting up for the school-day. Teachers greet their students enthusiastically. It's a similar feeling to entering your neighborhood bakery/florist/eatery where the owners just love providing a certain service or product to the community. The common area is large and has a nice fireplace. The library is stocked and is a place you'd want to spend hours in. The place exudes warmth! The early years/elementary school years are so important -- it's where much of your personality can form and PJS really tries to cultivate both a good learner and person. I'm just glad other parents in the area decide to make this investment on behalf of their children so that the school and it's caring teachers, staff, and philosophy do have a chance to affect children positively.

Amazing little school with strong integrated academics that are meaningful and central to children's natural inquiry. Excellent teachers and specialists with remarkable pedigree and understanding of child development. Social and emotional learning is the bedrock upon which the IB curriculum rests. Children are bright, self-directed, and motivated. No toxicity here-- just a happy place to grow, learn, and practice being a purposeful and valuable member of society. PJS is a place where everyone, big and small, is a learner.

It is a nice community for younger years. The teacher and student turn over is very high.

My child just entered Kindergarten & we absolutely love everything about the school. It was a really hard decision between going to private school vs sending him to public school as we have a great public school district with top ratings. We decided to try private as the public school only had a half day K thinking we would only send him for the first year. But after several months at the school, we have decided for us that the money was well worth it & we are keeping him there. A couple of things that might help you with deciding. We looked a lot of private schools & I thought PJS would not be as challenging to him, thinking it was more focused on arts and developing the child. Thats good and all but Im worried if I make the switch to public school he can keep up. I couldn't have been more wrong. Within the first 2 weeks he learned how to graph, tally, start reading and writing, different countries and where food came from. Its October and they already had 2 field trips. Core academics is a big focus & they get homework even in K. For a crazy tiger mom this is a dream come true & for him he is having fun. The teachers are very dedicated. I couldn't recommend this school enough.

Princeton Junior School is a caring, warm environment that prides itself in providing incredible student attention while delivering top academic achievements. visiting the school, one sees happy, laughing children and the parents naturally feel drawn into the warm environment. The teachers are available, interested and genuinely care. I have been delighted with my child attending since Pre-K and it's nice to be in a school where I have to drag my kid out of every afternoon because he doesn't want to leave.
