This school has a Christian foundation that allows students and staff to grow in body, mind and spirit. Grounded in the Biblical truth that teaches the key principles to first love God and then love others. A great staff and campus environment inspires the students to pursue excellence for the glory of God, and when that happens, others are blessed. We are confident that our two children are treated not as resources but are being trained to be good citizens.

Calvary Academy has made some great changes over the last few years. They received accreditation, built a new high school building, and hired some great new teachers. So far we are very happy with the academic and social education our child is receiving. Sometimes a small school can foster cliques or disagreements with teachers, but I have seen none of this to date. My daughter entered in 8th grade. She is shy and a bit quirky, yet she was completely welcomed by the students in her grade and teachers alike. She also made friends quickly and easily with students in grades below her and in high school. She is praised for her talents, and the girls in her class encourage each others' gifts (athletic, creative, etc.). They are genuinely nice people and are always speaking kind words to her and each other. I understand this does not always happen in a small school, but it happens here, at least in our experience. Academics are great - she gets the help she needs where she struggles and is challenged where she excels. Students who are good academically can score over 2000s in SATs. Teachers are patient and discipline is reasonable. I have not seen/heard of any major disciplinary issues with students. Sports are good because you can be average and still play on the team. Elementary students seem happy from what I have observed. The only thing I would love is busing from our township, and I hope that as the school grows, this will happen. Currently, Lakewood is the only town that provides busing. If you are looking for a loving, private and safe school, please take a tour of Calvary. The changes they have made really have made a difference in our lives, and I hope they will with yours too!

I went to this school from 5th to 8th grade and did not like it whatsoever. the kids were very cliquey, the teachers were overly strict and there was a lot of gossip. I feel like they dont show you the real world and when i left i was oblivious of reality.

My son entered Calvary Academy in 7th grade and graduated last year. He recieved an excellent education in a caring Christian environment. The teachers were outstanding and very well educated. Recently they fullfilled the requirements for accreditation by both ASCI and Middle states which is the same accrediting body used for all Accredited schools in New Jersey. My son is now in College studying engineering and is doing exceptionally well. Calvary Academy definetly provides the student with the tools they need to succeed in a competitive academic environment.

I grew up going to public schools and I saw first hand how kids were shuffled through the grades regardless of grades. There was no communication between parents and teachers. I decided to send my son to a private school for a better. The school has a great family environment. We know the administration due to their kindness not because my son misbehaved. The education he receives at Calvary is priceless. He is doing a lot of subjects which are done in later grades in public schools. He has been gradually introduced into advanced work over the years. The teachers are very friendly and are always in contact with me regarding my son's education. Most parents don't realize that in order for their kids to succeed in school they have to be a part of the kids education, in and out of school. This school is excellent and I recommend it to anyone who wants to give their kids a great education. As long as a parent realizes the teacher is not a babysitter,, the teacher is their to help the kids succeed and reenforce the importance of a good an education at home, the kid will succeed in any school. Keep this theory in mind and your child will excel with Calvary Academy!!!
