God awful. I hated every day of my Freshman year and I hated the first few days of my sophomore year. That’s why I went back to my home school.

As a former PAA student, i have to say PAA is the most terrible place to EVER send your child. There is NO freedom to academic classes, the programs for the arts are not challenging but instead are negative. I was told negative things by teachers. Guidance counselors also told my teachers confidential things. Also, it is unsafe. The sewage explodes in the halls everyday, and cockroaches crawl all over. There is not even a stage, a cafeteria, a gym or library as well. I wish i could say this is not true, but this is not how a school should be running! Almost, 10+ students left that school for the same reasons in the past two years, that should say enough.

This is an AMAZING school with an advanced curriculum and excellent teaching staff! I have never met so many teachers who love and enjoy their jobs as much as this school. My son is currently a 10th grade acting major at PAA and has THRIVED here, personally, educationally and artistically. The review that said 9th graders at the school do nothing and don't have an opportunity to act is absolutely WRONG! 9th graders are encouraged to try out for both acting shows each year and there are opportunities to try out for student directed shows, as well. As a 9th grader, my son was cast in both shows and 2 student directed performances. They are constantly performing and working on monologues in class, including and most importantly, the Freshman Showcase, where EVERY students performs on stage. The other majors - vocal and dance also have similar opportunities. There are also many after-school clubs that they can join, including the Black Box Players and International Thespian Society. You cannot blame the school if your child does not become involved and take advantage of all the wonderful program offerings and extra curricular activities available to them.

I am a current PAA student, and I must say that this school has completely changed my life. At my home school, I was one of the kids who were bullied constantly. But at PAA, there is a strict zero-tolerance policy for bullying and the people there are so nice. The entire school is like a giant family. I have made so many friends at PAA that I cannot imagine my life without, and I feel that this school has helped me improve as a performer in many ways.
