Lalor Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

Its bad but not because of bad teachers &staff. They mostly good. Lalor school is bad because Hamilton don't care about Lalor school. Lalor is bad because of bad parents, bad location & a bad Child Study Team. Pick &drop off is dangerous because of parents. Somebody going to get hurt or die one day. Parents speed, park in crosswalks, or too close to crosswalks. They backup into the crosswalk &they don't even see kids behind them. They don't look where they going. They park in front of people driveway. I seen the school trying to make it better but parents don't listen. The township don't care about what goes on at Lalor because the parents don't got money and the school too close to Trenton. The bully problem is both kids and parents. I think the school try with the kids but they do stuff like make up programs that reward bad kids for doing 1 good thing like holding a door, but good kids hardly rewarded for doing the same stuff . Good kids is just expected to keep doing it with no reward. Most of them bad kids got learning or other problems. The child study team need to step in but the don't. The regular teachers & staff got to handle them.

This is one of the worst of all of the Hamilton Twp. Elementary schools (which is really sad, considering the sorry state of Hamilton schools as a whole). My child has been there since kindergarten and is in fourth grade this year. In that time the school has changed principals FIVE TIMES. There is no extra help, unless you want to pay extra and visit one of the teachers who moonlights as a tutor on their off hours. Children with special needs do not receive help, unless they are a disruption to the class. There is a terrible bullying problem that is poorly handled or ignored. Sick children are forced to stay in school, without even a phone call home.

I 100% agree with what some of my fellow parents has stated. The office staff is rude and so are some of the lunch room aides, who, on one occasion as told my daughter to SHUT UP! The school has gone through at least 4 principles. The one time there was a mix up with my child being picked up and I was told that she had to pick her child and that my child would be in some room. She stated that no one will hear the buzzer and that he had to knock until some one answered the door. I was appalled that they had no protocol for this. I feel that for some that work for the school; lacks respect for the parents.

This school needs to be shut down, or the district needs to seriously start to inquire about what is going on there. The staff are rude to parents and they do not put the children first. I fought hard to get my son removed from this school and thank god that I did. He is now doing great in another school within the district. This school is on the borderline of the Hamilton/Trenton city line, and I feel the township treats the school as if it were a Trenton city school instead of a Hamilton Township School. The district does not care about the residents and children in this school because it is not in the more affluent section of Hamilton Township. This is really a shame because the children and parents in this area of the township deserve better.

This school is a mess. The parents do not volunteer and there is a serious lack of communication between the rude office staff and parents. My daughter has a physical disability that is continually ignored and instead we are harassed about her attendance. This school is under fire and they choose to pick on the good students versus fixing their issues. out of the 5 yrs my daughter has attended 2 teachers have cause her depression and deem highly unqualified to teach. Currently seeking a lawyer in education law to help assist us with several serious issues we are having.
