My daughter graduated Franklin High School in 2019, and my younger daughter currently attends. Coming from a private school background, I was not expecting much, especially due to the negative reviews the school tends to get. I was blown away by the programs and resources the school has to offer. My daughter loved her experience at FHS and my younger daughter also loves the school. I find the students to be academically challenged, especially in the Honors classes. There are plenty of clubs and extra-curricular activities offered to students. Very pleased and happy I did not spend money sending my kids to a private school!!

Great experience with my 3 kids! School provides good support for all kids - academics, sports, arts, music....good set of AP courses. Unmatched diversity a huge plus! Great counselors, but wish the student:counselor ratio was better to help kids prepare better for college starting 9th grade!

This school has a number of athletics and social programs available for students. There are clubs and opportunities that allows the children to grow. Most teachers try their best. With new administration in place it will be interesting to see the direction that the school takes.

I know that some children in the district face challenges, but if the parent and the students, along with the administration and the teachers do the right thing and take the right path there is plenty of opportunity for your child to excel and succeed. One area, mathematics has been an issue for the school district, they lowered their standards and those children that excelled missed opportunities to move ahead of that standard, but they are working on better gifted and talented programs and expanding those options. My son was a great student and also excelled and music and musical theater performance, and it was the motivation and close personal mentorship from the teachers that helped him to find a passion and his niche in the world!

My experience at Franklin high school was great. My friends and I participated in lots of extra-curricular activities which made high school worthwhile. However, the reason I give this school such a bad rating is partially due to the ignorance of the students. The students in this school have no respect AT ALL. I attended Bridgewatee-Raritan high school before attending Franklin, and I was appalled by the behavior of the students here. Usually this type of behavior would get you written up or suspended at other schools but, the staff here was not strong enough to take a stand. Students are wild in this school. I don't blame the students completely however, their parents play a big role in how they act. It was very easy to get sucked into the bad crowd in this school. I stayed my ground the three years I was here and ignored the ignorance (lol ironic). This school needs a discipline change and a strong principal. All the principals seemed soft and none of the staff seemed to strictly enforce rules. If you do not take AP classes at this school, the academic classes here are a joke. All in all this schools academic standards are a joke. Make sure to put your child in many AP classes and extra curricular activities if you decide on sending him or her here.
