Ramapo High School Ratings & Reviews

Teacher appear to be concerned about the quality of education. Principal cares about the school as a whole. However, I would like for students to have a few extra minutes to get from class to class during the day. Most students haul all of their belongings from class to class because there is no time to go to lockers and make it to class or a bus on time. Please add time so that students can unload and load as necessary throughout the school day.

Good schools. Good programs comparable to other good/ middle class school districts in New Jersey. There are several clubs- something for everyone- Teacher and counselors are involved in student’s success and make themselves readily available to answer questions from students and parents. Sports program is good (again, as compared to other districts with a comparative socio economic makeup) Academic programs - like most NJ high schools- prepare students for college. Ramapo has lots of "bells and whistles" (Like laptops for every students with matching sleeves) which make the high school more pleasant for the students and the parents. Overall a good school. Teachers' make themselves readily available after school. Tutoring is available for students. (Another staple in most schools) Some students attend top colleges after graduation. A larger number of students, however, attend good colleges and universities (not necessarily "top") there are several security measures in place at Ramapo (i.e. swipe cards to enter bathrooms, no outside beverages at games, etc.) Security has also been heightened for visitors/parents - When visiting the school one must present their driver’s license and have their picture taken- smile for the camera!

Ramapo High School continues to improve it's state rankings and placement of students into the top colleges and universities. It has a great combination of competitive sports and strong academics. Two of my children graduated Ramapo, are attending top colleges and were well prepared academically their first year. The AP, honor classes really prepared them for college.
