Im a student at this school and I think im in a 'right group' but some students disrupt classes. It is fun for me to watch but my grades are not so hot cuz. It seems that nothing is done to this students cuz they get back to class and start trouble again. Oh...we got new VP. What a joke!!!

Dover Middle School is not a horrible school, like people think it is. Yeah, there are kids who slack off and kids who are violent. You just have to make sure your kids get in to the right group. I am an 8th grade student at DMS and I have tons of fun here. Out of the two years I have been year I have had no one trying to start problems with me and my grades aren't so bad. So no Dover Middle is not a bad school, it's actually alot of fun with many great people. As long as you don't get yourself into problems you'll enjoy it your middlw school years.

Although the school offers a program for gifted students, but I would not call it a gifted and talented program offered at other schools. Students are not given tons of homework as I was told the leaders of the school do not believe that homework should be given everyday. The school also does not address the need of students who are not 'gifted'. The discipline is not being enforced as it used to be under the previous principal. My son tells me that the principal 'just sits in his office'. Based on the results, NJASK scores went down again since last year. The scores for Language Arts went up. However, Language Arts includes Reading and Writing. A student could be better in one area than the other; therefore, the whole Language Arts score can be raised.
