"Students can be amazing, and very caring, however many can also be challenging given it's urban setting. This is expected. Other districts have urban students that are less volatile. Given the many instances of student deaths and shootings in the area; nearby community; as well as the difficult rigor the school places on teachers, you would assume new teachers receive a minute amount of support. Good luck with that. Thankfully, my fellow teachers were saintly enough to help me throughout he year, while the ""suits' and overall Board of directors made every attempt to sabbaths a decent teaching experience. They will observe you constantly, weekly (six at a time) at the worst of times with the expectation that all challenges of the classroom are solely rooted in your identity as an instructor. Even in this ""top tier"" school, you will find leadership and rigor to be far more taxing than many other ""less privileged districts"". The pay is worse than other districts (believe me) and support is barely existent. Instances of leadership observations will have you questioning your every move. The expectations are much higher than other schools. While classroom sizes are much smaller, many of the students can be more volatile. Far commute is not recommended and you are judged by your attendance and use of proper standards. Your time spent after school, rapport with students, your love for your teaching is not significantly factored into your ""success"" as a teacher. Rather how effectively you analyze and raise statistics of student data is key. You are not being molded and mentored by other educators, but by the STATE. Testing and the use of data is the primary factor to your success . Fail in this and you fail in the totality of your contribution. When compared to several other districts (who are also urbanized) I would not recommend unless you are heavily desperate for a job."

Brimm is the top school in Camden. No other school will prepare you for college and help you with what you really need and want like Brimm. I highly recommend you try to get your child in for 9th grade entry . Its a hard process but you can do it. I really love how Brimm is set up.
