As Alumni of Franciscan University of Steubenville, we have seen first- hand the positive results of being in an environment rich in Catholic culture. We love the close-knit community atmosphere that parochial schools provide, however as a young and growing family of six, we struggled with the idea of tuition while already paying high property taxes. After six months in public school, homeschooling became our best option to provide an authentic Catholic education for our children, and while researching curriculums, we fell in love with the classical model. Then we found OLMC School and discovered an unwavering faithfulness to the Magisterium which will support the Catholic education we are already giving at home, complete with the time-tested classical model…for us, it has been worth every penny. Not only is it solidly Catholic, but is going back to the roots of what authentic Catholic education is. We can’t be more thrilled to be a part of this new/old era of education and after only a few months were blown-away by the spiritual and academic transformation in our son! OLMC is by far not the closest Catholic School to us, but choosing it was an easy decision.

It is so refreshing to be part of a school that so proactively seeks to find ways to improve itself. Complacency cannot be found here. Instead, the teachers and staff are driven by a genuine and undeniable passion toward success. The recent implementation of the classical model of education is a clear demonstration of OLMC’s desire to be the best. In order to inflame the hearts of their students, formators must first be on fire themselves. The teachers and staff at OLMC possess and infectious enthusiasm toward knowledge which has rubbed off on all of us. Our son is developing an intense love for learning and for God. What more could we ask for? We strongly believe that education goes beyond academics. It is evident that the staff members at OLMC consciously seek to find balance between the intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth of each of their students so as to more fully form the whole child. This alone sets OLMC apart from the rest! It gives us such a feeling of peace and confidence to know that our children will learn in a community where parents and teachers are truly working together toward one common goal. That is the goal of helping our children to become the very best versions of themselves; who will not only find success in this life, but who will ultimately earn their way to heaven one day. OLMC is a gift to our family, for which we are beyond grateful!

"Classical" Catholic schools are popping up all over the country with unbelievable success. We are so lucky we live close enough to send our children to the only one in the state of New Jersey! If you want your children to read and discuss mostly classic literature, learn logic, rhetoric, the Socratic method, Latin, seek beauty through music and art, weekly Mass, Adoration, Benediction, and monthly confession, Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the answer. We are confident our children will learn HOW to THINK and REASON, not just be taught how to take a test and be trained to be a worker, which is the trend in education today. They will be given the tools to succeed at whatever they decide to do as adults. We thank God every day we have found this school and the warm close-knit family that comes with it.

We looked into many different schools in a large region, and we're very satisfied with our choice of OLMC. We believe our children are receiving the best possible education. They are excited to go to school and happy when they come home from it. In our opinion that's the best measure of success. With all due respect to the previous poster, who seems to have a personal vendetta, the idea that the school is in a dangerous, drug-filled location is unhinged and offensive. OLMC is across from a church and 100 yards down the street from the public school. Kids freely walk to both OLMC and that school and no one is even slightly worried about their safety. In fact, last year NJ Family magazine named Boonton the BEST town in the entire state for families, and with good reason. Boonton is vibrant and lovely, and its residents are down-to-earth and welcoming. OLMC is a great school in a great town, and we are grateful to be a part of it.

It was our first year at OLMC and it was the best school year we have ever had. The children made fast friends as the established families were so welcoming. We became part of the OLMC family and there is no turning back. I honestly believe any other school is lacking in comparison. OLMC has no equal in NJ. For the sake of the Church, I hope other Catholic schools will follow OLMC's lead for the betterment of our society. God bless OLMC School!
