William Annin Middle School Ratings & Reviews
This school was a wonderful experience for my child. My child actually enjoys going to school and learning. The teachers, staff, and counsellor are always available to help him and talk to him. The education received is awesome.
William Annin is an awful school. Nothing good comes out of it. None of the teachers seem like they want to be there and majority of the kids are mean to each other. Bullying occurs often and teachers rarely step in to help. At the school dances, I've heard 6th graders talking about inappropriate dance moves that they tend to do with the other gender. When you walk in to the front desk/office you get nothing but rude people who don't care about you or what you need. William Annin needs a complete clean out. New teachers, updated classrooms and maybe the kids will learn to be nice to each other. They might also learn that sending nudes to each other is disgusting considering the fact 65% of students mainly in grades 7 & 8 participate in that. I'm truly disgusted and so thankful that I got my son out of there after he was told to kill himself by several students. No teacher stepped in even when the incident was reported. Nobody should go to this school.
I would like to add a note about the school dances. I really like the idea of my daughter participating in these programs organized by the school. They are well structured and facilitated with the intention of providing the children with a positive social experience. Moreover my child and her friends enjoy them.
We are so disappointed we moved our daughter from a nice private school in Basking Ridge to this hideous place. We did it to help our daughter get acclimated before moving on to the public high school. But this school is run like a jail, crowded and cold, with a very unfriendly environment. There is not enough lab space for all the students, so my daughter has a virtual "lab". The academics are a whole year behind her last school! Not what I expected at all based on earlier reviews, but some of these reviews go back years. Things change, and this school certainly has. Next year we are moving our daughter back to private school, where we know she'll receive a good education in a learning-friendly environment. I've been told the high school is better, but I don't think we'll chance making the same mistake twice.
I have been listening to a 6 grade student talking about the school dances that William Annin organizes. I wouldn't be published if I mentioned what goes on among 11 year old students but I can only say that it saddens me to hear that steps towards the oldest profession in the world are being taken. Money/paying is also involved. God help us, our child will be entering the school one day...
