Wonderful school full of dedicated and innovative teachers. The kids are caring and kind to one another, the atmosphere is positive, upbeat and welcoming. You won't find another school as warm and wonderful as this one. Very happy with my children's educational progress at this school and their ability to adapt for all learning types.

Having been a parent of students at this school for many years (and several more to come) I believe I have the experience to say that KES is the exact school environment any parent or caregiver would want their child to attend for as long as they possibly could. The small size and compassionate staff make it the most wonderful environment for learning, for growth, and for readying children of any ability for their challenges and dreams in the future.

KES is a comfortable, nurturing learning community where all children are cared for. The teachers are very dedicated to their students and are passionate about education. My children are thriving at the school and are so excited to go each day. The principal is very supportive and it is evident that she is knowledgable of modern day education.

The bad: When we first moved here, the school was great. After 4 years, we have seen it go downhill. The problem seems to have come hand in hand with the new principal. Group punishments. Being forced to walk the track as punishment until the point of blisters. Loss of recess due to unfinished work (despite being told repeatedly that this doesn't happen...it does!) Morning drop off is downright dangerous. There is no communication & requests by parents are completely ignored. Most of the teachers do not listen to the students & there seems to be quite a bit of favoritism. If your child is on an IEP, expect it to be ignored for the most part. The good: One teacher we had was absolutely amazing. The PE teacher is great. The music teacher does a great job with the kids. Beyond that, this school is poor & seems to be getting worse each day. I hear a horror story from my child almost every day & complaints fall on deaf ears. We are eagerly awaiting the end of the school year & middle school.

KES is a wonderful school that children love to go to. They have morning activities for kids that are early risers or for parents that need to be to work early. The kindergarten teacher, Ms. Greenwood, does home visits before the school year and actually rides the bus with the kids at the beginning of the year. Ms. Spinosa, the PE teacher, goes above and beyond. She runs the walking club in the morning where kids get tokens for each lap. She applied and received a grant to have the track put behind the school. She also does a wonderful job with the jump rope program, getting kids to be healthy and active! The school is small and personable. Ms.Aiken at the front desk is warm and welcoming. We are lucky to be such a great little town.
