It was a bad experience, maybe for not all the top jocks and A+, $$ students but I know for some it wasn't the greatest high school experience because of the favoritism that was so obvious towards certain "clicks/group".

This is a great school with multiple opportunities! The activities are always competitive and the teachers are always striving to push their kids. I have had 2 kids go through the system; one was in lower level classes and the other was in honor classes. Both had a great experiences attending GISH!

As an american I feel very disappointed when it comes to other parents complaining about how immigrants come to this school "to steal other kids' opportunities". If you go to GISH and you fail, it is because YOU don't put enough effort into it. My kid is hispanic and he will be graduating with honors, and I couldn't be happier. In the other hand when I went to high school all the racist comments I received for being "different" made it almost impossible for me to graduate until I moved to GISH. Proud to be an Islander.

Very disappointed with this school. My child was on honor roll all through school, until he became a sophmore at this school then his grades began to fall. I talked to all his teacher and the vice principle (no one seemed to care I was told all the extra programs that are there to help student are full with children being taugh to speach English. He almost failed his Sophmore year. Junor year started off the same, so I took him out of that school, moved him to Northwest and within a couple of months there his grade where back up to passing. He has now graduated and is in college. When you ask him what the difference was he will tell you that the teachers at Northwest care.

Not a very good school, but being the only public high school in town, I guess they can get away with that. If you can afford it I would send my child to private school. This school is out of control and it seems as if noone can do anything about it.
