"I am a Casa parent of 7 years and three students enrolled there. I love the Casa community and our experience there. It's our ""happy place."" If they went through high school, we would stay even longer."

Below person wrote to look at dates of reviews. Yes most of these are after December 6th. As mom at Casa 5yrs, I have seen our school at its best ( currently) and at its worst . I am a mom , full time Volunteers( PFA officer ) who loves our school and teachers . Our current Principal is amazing !! When I heard our reviews were old and bad from few new parents , I posted on A parents Facebook page what I had heard about our reviews. That’s what we do at Casa , parents see a problem , we find solutions together, in this case our reviews were out dated(again This was done by me on parent Facebook page NOT by the school).Everyone knows people without encouragement will write review when provoked by negative experience, however, when everything is good , most people don’t think to write reviews. Casa family are happy , we break record on All community events , anyone Can easily call hillridge farm( over 600 attendance), United Skate ( close to 400 attendance) and McDonald’s on Capital blvd which school has the best turn out for school events. The community is happy and positive , community events , donation and volunteers are no comparison . Not to say there aren’t unhappy people, but that’s at all school . However, I always ask why do people choice to stay at school of choice if it’s so bad.

We have been at Casa for five years, and all three of our children currently attend. We have had an amazing experience in the immersion program. Our children love their teachers and have learned so much. My husband and I do not speak Spanish, so it is a joy to see how far our children's language skills have come in their time at Casa. We are often told by native speakers that their Spanish is excellent! We are also thrilled to see how our older daughters' study skills have developed as a result of the Montessori component of Casa's program. Now in third and fourth grade, they have learned independently to follow their work plan at school and very rarely need to be reminded to do their homework. We couldn't be happier with their education at Casa, and we love the warm environment the teachers, staff, and parents have created. I can't imagine our kids anywhere else.

I just want you all to read the dates of the reviews when you are considering the school. They encourage parents to put up reviews all at one time to skew the actual reviews. I have never seen this at any other school. There are happy people and unhappy people and potential parents should be able to make an informed decision. The curriculum is not good and no one is on one accord. There isn't a standard reading and writing curriculum so if new teachers come in they have no clue what to do. The scores are evident in that. The school has been on an academic decline since 2014 and it hasn't went back up.They are not keeping up with WCPSS pay for teachers so any teachers. The class sizes are horrible. There are at least 29-31 students in each classroom. NC has passed laws about classroom sizes. In k you're only suppose to have 18 kids, in 1st 16, and so on. Smaller class sizes improve a child's education and that's not happening at Casa.
